The Universal Audio Apollo x6 Heritage Edition is the perfect interface for electronic musicians and post-production pros. In addition to all the benefits of the interface, the special Heritage Edition adds a diverse package of premium UAD plug-ins at an unprecedented value—they could total over $2,400 if purchased separately.

Apollo x6 has two Unison-enabled mic preamps that sound and behave like the world's most sought-after designs. The UA Apollo x6 is a sleek 16x22 Thunderbolt 3 rackmount interface. It has the tone, feel and real-time workflow of classic analog gear. It also delivers the power and performance to boost your workflow.

With HEXA Core processing, the x6 extends the limits of your plug-in processing. It features a built-in talkback mic, 5.1 surround sound monitoring* and selectable +24dBu operation. This makes it compatible with pro mixing consoles and other high-end pro audio gear.

Premium UAD Plug-Ins—Over $2,400 Value

Apollo x6 Heritage Edition comes with 10 premium award-winning plug-in titles valued at over $2,400—including the full suite of UA's Teletronix, 1176 and Fairchild compressors, Helios Type 69, V76 and UA 610 mic preamps, all Pultec EQs, Oxide Tape Recorder and Pure Plate Reverb. These premium Heritage Edition titles are in addition to the Apollo x6's included Realtime Analog Classics Plus bundle, giving you the most accurate library of classic analog emulations included with any professional audio interface. A hallmark feature of Apollo is its Realtime UAD Processing, letting you run the full library of UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency.

Elite Audio Conversion and Enhanced Stereo Image

The x6 improves on the previous Apollo interfaces by pairing elite 24-bit/192kHz converters with analog circuitry. This results in a pristine signal path.  UA x6 has 129dB of dynamic range and -119dB of total harmonic distortion. Its natural-sounding audio rivals any high-end converter on the market. It also has Dual-Crystal clocking for stunningly low jitter. That means pure recordings and excellent stereo imaging.

Two Unison-enabled Preamps That Emulate Classic Gear

The UA x6 audio interface has two Unison-enabled mic preamps. When used with the Apollo Console software, these preamps imitate classic analog preamps. The result, your recordings will have the tone and sound of Neve, API, Manley, SSL and more.  To achieve this, the preamp talks with the Console software and physically changes. It models the physical features of the software preamp and mimics it perfectly.

The Speed of Thunderbolt 3 With Cascading Connectivity

Like all of the Apollo x interfaces, the x6 looks sleek and modern. It has front panel controls, monitoring functions and a backlit metering display.  It boasts two Thunderbolt 3 inputs for blazing-fast speed and low latency.  The two inputs also allow you to link up to four Apollos together to add more I/O and DSP.

The American Legion
Format: Hardcover
This is a great book, well researched and excellently written. It is a follow up to the Broadway show I attended, "Good Night and Good Luck." A most excellent show and also filmed by CNN. What is most disturbing about the book, as an American Legionnaire, is how far right and violent the American Legion was during this period.

Well Written and Readable. Highly Recommend
Format: Kindle
I am working on my longest “Days In A Row” reading streak. Finished my last book early with nothing setup to read. Couldn’t find anything that interested me. The 1950’s Red Scare is mentioned often and I only had a high level, general knowledge of that period in history. AND… the Kindle book was on sale for $2. Thought it was worth a shot? The book immediately shot to the top of both my “Best Books” and “Most Informative Books” lists. Highly researched, well organized, incredibly well written and most importantly, readable. If you like history, this is an excellent book on the late 40’s and 50’s. Highly recommend.

Must-read history to understand the current moment
Format: Hardcover
A fast read, and a fun one (given the topic) Clay Risen's RED SCARE is a major accomplishment. If you don't know much about the Red Scare and McCarthyism, this is a great place to start. If you think you do, you'll learn something and enjoy Risen's meticulously researched account. RED SCARE is also a timely book, providing context for today's MAGA-fueled distrust of DEI and "woke" culture, and the rearguard, "White is right," 1950s mindset that informs it. A must-read book.

McCarthy and his reach into the modern day
Format: Hardcover
Reasonably even-handed history of McCarthy's rise and fall, the movement he founded, and the people and institutions affected by his influence. A difficult period to read about, though Risen's prose is accessible. A good overview for anyone interested in the period.

Powerful
Format: Hardcover
Spanning the 40s and 50s, this is an absolutely breathtaking, stunning story of the paranoia, cruelty, and hysteria around an imagined communist-planned takeover of the Unites States by infiltration. This lunacy and oppression occurred at every level of American society from the federal government down to local school boards. Thousands of lives were ruined, more people were killed or committed suicide than you can imagine. It's an ugly story about an ugly time, told like a thriller. I could not stop reading it. My one note is that it was not carefully edited. Every now and then there's a sentence that simply doesn't scan, doesn't make sense, or is awkward--but you could say that points to how good the narrative is overall. Exceptions stick out, and that's too bad, given the subject matter and given that the author thanks an entire large writers' group for helping him with his prose.
