Dark Moon Athame - Forged in fire, painted with flames, quenched in moon water.

These ceremonial blades have been crafted with great intention to provide you with an exceptional altar tool for your practice.

Hand forged from a reclaimed railway spike, it has the traditional dagger shape and a handle that fits comfortably in the hand.

The blade is blackened with a special treatment. Each blade takes the blackening process differently, so every athame is unique. As the final stage in the forging process, the athame blade was quenched in Quartz infused Moon Water.

All athames are hand forged. Therefore each piece is unique and special.

Due to the variations in device displays, the colours may appear different on screen from how they look in person.

Our Daelen Forge Original Railway Spike Athame is perfect for casting circles, rituals, and working with energy. The blade has been hand polished and the edge specially honed for energy use.

Important Notes:

This style of blade can not be hardened and sharpened and is not created for utility work such as wildcrafting, chopping herbs, etc. If you are looking for a ritual knife that is hardened and sharpened, please see our listings for knives forged for that purpose.

Daelen Forge Original athames are treated with a Renaissance Wax protective finish. Renaissance Wax is used in antique restoration and museum conservation around the world, in particular for the preservation and protection of metal. With proper use and care, you should not need to do anything special to care for your athame. These athames should be used only for their intended purpose (energy/ceremonial/ritual/decorative use). Do not expose to open flame or any heat source. Do expose to any moisture of any form, including water, oils, etc. This is not a blade to be used on any physical matter. If you are looking for a ritual blade that can be used on physical matter, such as wildcrafting, herbs, rope cutting, etc. I have other blades that are created for that purpose. Please contact me if you have any questions about finding the perfect blade for your intended purpose. Although you should never need to if used as intended, to clean your athame simply wipe it gently with a soft cotton cloth (the cloths used to clean glasses are great for this purpose). However, repeated cleaning will remove the Renaissance Wax protective finish and could lead to damage of your piece. If required, you can reapply the Renaissance Wax. See their directions on how to do this. This is a carbon steel blade and as such will be prone to corrosion if not used, cared for, and stored properly.

Daelen Forge Original blades are all hand forged carbon steel. Proper care of this piece is very important, including proper storage. High carbon blades should not be stored in leather sheaths as it can lead to corrosion and damage to the blade and will damage the fire painting finish.

Because they are all hand-forged, from reclaimed railway spikes, and each piece of metal has its own essence and character, there may be small blemishes or imperfections, but these add to the unique character of the piece, giving it a special individuality, and reflect the previous lives of the metal. No two pieces are ever exactly the same. One of my intentions in all my forging is to preserve pieces of history, and protect our environment. By using these reclaimed spikes, the steel is kept out of the landfill and a piece of Canadian history is preserved in a new form.

Made by me (Daelen Forge) in Alberta, Canada. Prices listed are in Canadian dollar.

Good quality sound deadener at a good price.
Model: NewSLS50_52
Quality sound deadening that adheres to body panels well. You can easily hear the vibration reduction after just the first piece by tapping on the body panel before and after.

BUY THIS ONE!
Model: NewSLS50_52
This is one of the good ones. There are other brands just as good, and manny brands are worse, but this handles well, rolls down easily, doesn't come off at all easily, and adapts to dips and curves like a champ. Appropriately heavy and dead, I'm happy with the way it smothers panel resonances and even at muffling direct sound, like a big hand over my Uncle Harry's eternally noisy mouth. You can rip the foil but you have to work hard at doing that. Remember to buy a brayer; you can roll overlaps nice and thin. Also remember to pre-wipe the sheet metal with a decent solvent like acetone or Stoddard/Varsol. It should last forever.

Good stuff, but watch the temp
Model: NewSLS50_52
I used this in my single cab pickup truck (89 ford.) It only took half the box (10 sheets or 25 square feet) to do the floors, but I bought the big box because I plan to do the doors, back wall, and maybe the roof as well. One thing I learned is that the temperature matters when you’re doing the installation. It was around 55F when I started in the evening, and when it dipped down into the 40s the sheets would not stick to the metal, and were hard to compress with the roller. That’s why I ended up only doing the floors and not any vertical surfaces; i will have to wait for a nice hot day. The other thing is that the foil layer on top is razor sharp at the edges, definitely wear gloves! I didn’t notice until after but I have little papercuts all over my fingers. Aside from those things, the install was easy and straightforward. The sheets cut easily with scissors, and any goo that ends up on your hands or scissors can be cleaned up with acetone (nail polish remover), or lacquer thinner. I would use this stuff again.
