Prevomax is a veterinary medication designed for dogs and cats to manage vomiting, either alongside other supportive treatments or as a preventive measure.

Active ingredient: Maropitant 10mg/ml

Pack size: 20ml multi-use vial.

Indications for use:

• To prevent vomiting in dogs and cats, except for that caused by motion sickness.
• To treat acute vomiting in cats older than 16 weeks, as well as dogs and puppies 8 weeks or older, in conjunction with other veterinary and supportive treatments.
• Helps to prevent and treat nausea in dogs and cats.
• To avoid perioperative nausea and vomiting and to enhance recovery from general anesthesia following the use of the μ-opiate receptor agonist morphine in dogs.

Dosage: Prevomax^® should be administered subcutaneously or intravenously once daily at a dosage of 1mg per kg of body weight (1mL per 10kg). Treatment may be continued for a maximum of 5 consecutive days.
For preventing nausea and vomiting, Prevomax^® should be given more than 1 hour prior. The effect lasts around 24 hours, so it can be administered the night before a procedure that may induce nausea or vomiting, such as chemotherapy. Injecting the product at cooler temperatures may help reduce discomfort at the injection site.

Storage: Keep below 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use within 56 days after first opening the vial.
