The Waning of the Middle AgesThis classic study of art, life, and thought in France and the Netherlands during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries ranks as one of the most perceptive analyses of the medieval period. This classic study of art, life, and thought in France and the Netherlands during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries ranks as one of the most perceptive analyses of the medieval period. A brilliantly creative work that established the reputation of Dutch historian John Huizinga (1872-1945), the book argues that the era of diminishing chivalry reflected the spirit of an age and that its figures and events were neither a prelude to the Renaissance nor harbingers of a coming culture, but a consummation of the old.Among other topics, the author examines the violent tenor of medieval life, the idea of chivalry, the conventions of love, religious life, the vision of death, the symbolism that pervaded medieval life, and aesthetic sentiment. We view the late Middle Ages through the psychology and thought of artists, theologians, poets, court chroniclers, princes, and statesmen of the period, witnessing the splendor and simplicity of medieval life, its courtesy and cruelty, its idyllic vision of life, despair and mysticism, religious, artistic, and practical life, and much more.
Long regarded as a landmark of historical scholarship, The Waning of the Middle Ages is also a remarkable work of literature. Of its author, the New York Times said, "Professor Huizinga has dressed his imposing and variegated assemblage of facts in the colorful garments characteristic of novels, and he parades them from his first page to the last in a vivid style."
An international success following its original publication in 1919 and subsequently translated into several languages, The Waning of the Middle Ages will not only serve as an invaluable reference for students and scholars of medieval history but will also appeal to general readers and anyone fascinated by life during the Middle Ages.

The best 50 spf sunscreen!
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
This is the best 50 spf mineral sunscreen I have found! It really gives a barrier to prevent sunburn on the skin! I use this 50 spf sunscreen on myself my kids my husband! It stays on for a really long time! And on my horses with pink noses! The cream is light, a little watery in the palm. It feels light and is not sticky on the skin. The smell is lightly tropical, which are my favorite smells! It does leave a faint white color on the skin when you put it on. It does it’s job really good stopping a sunburn!

Great sunscreen, leaky bottle cap
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
Great sunscreen. Smells good, but not overpowering. Best mineral sunscreen I’ve used—still a bit pasty, but rubs in better than any other brand.
The bottle design is horrible. The cap falls off with the slightest touch. If you like sunscreen in the bottom of your beach bag, the bottle is great.

Did not protect
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
Product smells great and goes on better than most mineral sunscreens. It was labeled as "reef safe" so I assumed it would work well in water. It did not. After just a half hour in the Caribbean water, my skin was red. The product did not say "waterproof" so we decided to use it only when we were away from the beach. Unfortunately, even in the cold spring weather of our northern climate we still ended up with red skin. We had no choice but to throw away the rest of the bottle. Do not expect this lotion to protect you from the damaging rays of the sun.

Great sport block for sensitive skin
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 50
I use this whole playing tennis or pickleball, it might be a little much for everyday. Does not irritate my sensitive skin. Rich enough for dry skin. Very slightly white cast that quickly fades. Does not run or bother my eyes for sports. Basically perfect in all categories.
