The debut LP by this Western Mass duo is a masterpiece of fractured air. The two performers are Andy Allen (from the original line-up of Guerilla Toss, among many other places) and Mia Friedman (whose collaborations apart from this include Lichen and appearances with Lauri McNamara's Carbuncles). Previously issued as a cassette, Hobson's Choice is a blend of traditional and experimental approaches that alternately puts us in mind of several units inhabiting the landscape of Strange Maine over the last decade, and the animated '30s cartoons of Max Fleischer. And Hollow Deck have a unique way of quivering between their two main style poles guaranteed to put hair on anyone's chest. From it's first song, the album is a bridge between beauty (as personified by Mia's singing voice) and odd instrumental work that moves from clutter to clack to clam in the space of a blink. A few of the tracks are so sweetly arranged - rural voice and flute gliding above warm fields - that it almost feels like insanity is on the wind when the musical proceedings turn dark and unruly. But, as in life, they always do eventually, if only for the nonce. Before you know it, the scene turns into a nursery room theatrical with mice in white gloves capering while the cat naps. Other gorgeous bits recall Joanne Robertson at her most elegiac, singing along to a broken record. Then flutes join the fun, as though representing a pack of wolves mourning the death of the moon. Hobson's Choice is filled with many other such seemingly contradictory juxtapositions. Letting them flow through your head will free you - if only for a moment - from the world around us, delivering you somewhere new before snatching you back to reality. Great Little Gadget

What a fun and easy to use gadget! I use it to foam Zero Sugar Coffeemate creamer for my iced coffee and it works perfectly. I thought the on/off button was on the top but it's on the side. I was concerned that I would unintentionally bump it but I don't. Easy to use, easy to clean and price is reasonable.

What a pleasant surprise to experience this double whisk Electric Milk Frother!! The sheer power is incredible. Makes the most delicious blended Green Tea Match Latte, Dalgona Coffee and Mochas! The only "con" happened yesterday when I was frothing my Green Tea and the device just suddenly stopped! At the time, I wished that there was some sort of colored bulbs or other way of determining charge levels. A remarkably strong Milk Frother!

It froths, but is not dependent

While this frother does “froth”, it has many more cons than pros. The ONLY pro is it froths. The cons—only good for a traditional coffee cup. It is not water proof, and the instructions say to keep the “unit “ dry. As you froth, the liquid naturally raises height. If you are trying to use a Togo coffee mug, or thermos type travel mug—it only works well if done it three or four levels to ensure keeping the motor above the liquid. The “rechargeable “ function DOES recharge, however- it may last 1use or a few. It’s VERY inconsistent. And does not seem to be related to how long you allow it to charge. Overall—not a good buy. I had mine maybe 3 months before it quit working. And at 2 months it started becoming spastic. Even after just being charged-it wouldn’t even froth 1cup. AVOID!!
