This listing is for materials (see the list below for the non-counter materials) meant to improve the play of World War 3 (SPI).  This Variant Counter Set includes 800+ beautifully done Variant Counters including counters for Eurasia, Oceania, and East Asia included in the scenarios, but not in SPI's original counter set of 600.  The counters are the standard 1/2" square size (as are the game's original counters) and finely colored.  Some to all of the non-counter materials may emailed upon shipment of your purchase.  
      
The counters listed here are 1/2" size (as are other The Civil War counters), about the thickness of a standard counter (but not exactly the same thickness).  The Untested Generals Counter Set is laser printed!  The counters will be shipped individually cut rather than in uncut sheets.  The color shades of the actual counters may differ from those seen on your monitor.  Variant counters are sent to professional printers to produce a high quality product.  
                        
The listing for 600+ Variant Counters ($32.99) includes all of the material included in this listing, but NOT the 200+ counters for Eurasia, Oceania, and East Asia.    
     
  There is substantial labor involved in precisely cutting 800+ counters; the per counter cost of this listing is much lower than many other sets we have seen online.  It is not uncommon to pay $10 or more for 40 counters or less while this listing contains 20 times as many counters and bonus materials also!!

World War 3 designed by James Dunnigan is a simulation of hypothetical scenarios of global conflict in the 70's and 80's.  Six scenarios of varying length and complexity are included for 2 to 3 players.  Lots of play variability as potential allies of each side may randomly not decide to join the hostilities!  Victory conditions depend on the particular scenario, though generally involve having the greater number of Industrial Hexes - functioning ones that is, as the losing side may decide to escalate the conflict by launching ICBMs!

Heartfelt and Nostalgic

What can I say to effectively capture the beauty, sweetness, and depth of this story? Sam and Percy’s story is sweet and nostalgic, and it made me feel like I was a teenager again right along with them. It brought back memories of my own teenage years spent camping at various lakes with family and friends; memories I hadn’t thought about in awhile. Barry’s Bay is a character in its own right as well, and I had such a vivid picture in my mind of what it must have looked like. There were moments when I laughed out loud, and moments that made me cry. The exploration of guilt and what it does to a person and the ones they love was so emotional and real. And the sweetness and love between Percy and Sam, despite all their mistakes and miscommunications, is something that will stick with me for a long time. There is so much heart in this story. I love a good friends-to-lovers romance, and have read quite a few, but this is easily one of the best.

Yes the FMC parents had some money but it was a refresher that nobody was spoiled and the MMC earned his way into medical school.

Told in dual timelines, we unravel the mystery of the once in a lifetime love story between two people who were as fated as a couple could be. First and foremost, there are not one but TWO John Candy references in this book. He is a late Canadian actor who was popular in the 80s. Most will know him as the Polka Player from home alone but I know him from so much more. Trust me, he deserves this paragraph of recognition and I praise the author for including him as he is slowly being forgotten. Now onto the story. I loved it. No ifs ands or buts about it. I absolutely love this story. It is a dual timeline, second chance romance and I think it got me out of my reading slump. I finished it in less than 2 days and couldn’t put it down. The history of the characters, watching them slowly fall in love and come to terms with their feelings. Seeing how they struggle over the long distances and other romances that pop up. It was so well written and it felt like I was watching two people I knew in real life fall for each other. It was so realistic , even the lows had me tearing up but remaining hopeful. The twist, the reason why they broke up, was predictable. I saw it coming not long into the book but it didn’t take away from the heartache I felt when it was revealed. I enjoyed that we also got to explore relationships outside of the main love interest. We got to know Percy’s friends and how they interacted with Sam too which was a nice break from the romance and gave depth outside of the love interest. Great book and I’m so thankful it got recommended to me.

Charming and Summery, But Longer Than It Should Be

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5 Stars) I listened to Every Summer After on audio, and at first, it really felt like it had the potential to be a solid 4-star read for me. The beginning is charming, easy to sink into, and definitely has that cozy, nostalgic summer atmosphere that so many readers love. It’s a cute, pleasant story with a smooth flow, and the type of book you can listen to without needing to focus too deeply. However, as the story went on, the pacing became a real issue. At around ten hours, this audiobook felt unnecessarily long. The plot didn’t have enough depth or twists to justify that length, and I honestly think it would have been a much stronger book if it wrapped up closer to the seven-hour mark. Around the midpoint, I found myself losing interest at times simply because the narrative stretched itself thin. When it comes to the writing itself, Carley Fortune keeps things very simple. There’s nothing particularly inspiring, profound, or memorable about the prose. It’s straightforward and easy to follow, but it doesn’t stand out, and I wouldn’t say it’s developed enough to be considered a distinct “writing style.” It does the job, but it never elevates the story or adds emotional depth the way some authors can. I also didn’t fall deeply in love with the characters. They were fine, but not the type that stay with you after the book is over. Because the character connection never fully clicked for me, the slower pacing felt even more noticeable, and some of the emotional beats didn’t land as strongly as they were intended to. Overall, Every Summer After is an easy, pleasant listen — perfect if you’re looking for something light, summery, and uncomplicated. While the overly long runtime, very simple writing, and limited emotional connection kept it at 3.5 stars for me, it’s still a sweet story that delivers exactly what many readers look for in a nostalgic summer romance. I’m still open to exploring more of Carley Fortune’s books, and I’m curious to see how her other stories compare!
