Math Mammoth Linear Equations 2 continues the study of linear equations after Math Mammoth Linear Equations 1, and is meant for the 8th grade level. It focuses both on the mechanics of solving linear equations and on problem solving.

The book starts with a vocabulary reference sheet. The first actual lesson is a review of integer addition and subtraction, which you can omit at your discretion. The next several lessons after that review simple equations of the form px + q = r and p(x + q) = r and and the distributive property from 7th grade.

The next step towards solving more complex equations is the lesson Combining Like Terms. Students add and subtract like terms, including with decimal or fractional coefficients, and solve equations where like terms need combined first.

Having learned this, students then tackle some typical algebraic word problems in the following lesson.

Then it is time to learn to solve equations where the variable is on both sides. There are often several possible solution pathways. Students also learn about the common error of adding or subtracting Òacross the sides.Ó

The lesson Simplifying Linear Expressions focuses on how to remove parentheses after a minus sign, such as in the expression 2(3 + 2y) _ 7(3 _ 5y).

After that, it is time for more practice and word problems, including age and coin word problems.

Then we turn our attention to equations with fractions, and the student learns to multiply both sides of the equation by a common multiple of the denominators. In the lessons on formulas, the student both solves various formulas for a variable in it, and uses formulas to solve a variety of word problems.

The lesson More on Equations deals with equations that have an infinite number of solutions (identities) or no solutions.

The book ends with two more lessons on word problems (percent word problems and miscellaneous problems).

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.

dog ball
Color: Blue
This ball is perfect for keeping my dog active and entertained. It's made of strong, durable material, ideal for games of fetch. It doesn't break easily and is light enough for him to carry in his mouth without any problem.

Fun but not for rough play.
Color: Orange
The ball contented our “golden” Jaxson for about 15 minutes. He then thought it was a regular ball and it’s just a little delicate for a big dog. I just wrote it off as a loss. Great idea but should be more durable.

My 50 pound goldendoodle absolutely loves this ball. It keeps a charge for a long time. It turns off When it’s not being used and we play with it every day.!
