Calm

This piece has an  image showing a sphere at rest, buoyant on the surface of calm water. Only a few small ripples flow from the contact point; a gentle response to the balancing sphere. Notice the round form is not sunk into the water, but instead just resting on the surface. Its lowest point is barely submerged, a soft contact with the nourishing water.

This piece is mean to represent your ability to float gracefully in challenging situations. If you can remember to be poised and self contained, you can help yourself from sinking into the depths. The ability to be rest quietly and float gently is the key to being calm.

When you can be buoyant in a situation, you can be fully present in your environment. If you sink down, you can't see what is going on around you. If you float too far above you can't participate. Resting gently with what is, being calm, will give you the courage to continue.
