As its name suggests, this laser printer belongs to the HP LaserJet series designed specifically to handle both business and consumer printing needs. Contributing to the HP LaserJet 5’s speed is a 33 MHz Intel processor and the preinstalled 4-megabyte, 72-pin SIMM RAM. With three empty memory slots, this particular printer model’s memory can be upgraded to 68MB to make it more responsive and to allow it to store more print jobs simultaneously, if needed. With a maximum monthly duty cycle of 35,000 pages, this HP LaserJet is ideal for both small offices and homes. The HP LaserJet series is fully compliant with EPA Energy Star standards, and this model is no exception with its 290-watt operational power consumption, which goes down to 100 watts during standby/sleep.
