Freeform New Zealand Pāua Shell Pendant – Polished & Natural Shape

Bold, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind — these statement pendants are carved from New Zealand Pāua shell (Haliotis iris), transformed by careful sand polishing to enhance their iridescent interior while preserving their raw, organic outline.

Each pendant’s shape is a unique gift from nature — no two are alike. Hanging gracefully from a drilled hole, they’re ready to become a central piece of intention, adornment, or energy work in your collection.

Materials & Meaning

Pāua (Haliotis iris): Known as blackfoot pāua or rainbow abalone, this native New Zealand shell is prized for its stunning iridescence — deep blues, greens, purples, and rainbow flashes that shimmer with every movement . The shell’s nacre (mother-of-pearl) layers are made of calcium carbonate trapped with organic matrix, giving it the rainbow effect akin to peacock feathers and butterfly wings .

Spiritual Symbolism:
• The shell connects to ocean energy, emotional healing, and intuition, carrying a soothing, calming presence that’s often used to ease anxiety and foster inner peace .
• It is rich in feminine and ancestral power. In Māori culture, paua links to the eyes of ancestors and the night sky, making it a potent symbol of guidance and continuity .
• Cross-cultural traditions also use paua for connection, protection, and spiritual passage, from smudging sage to puberty rites.

Pāua shell is composed of aragonite (CaCO₃), arranged in a brick-like microscopic structure that provides both strength and shimmer.

My Designs? Sublime. The Paper? Sublimation Perfection.
Size: 8.5"X11"
Prints clear, presses clean, and never lets me down—unless I’m the problem (which is often). I keep this stocked like toilet paper. You don’t want to run out mid-project.

Great Quality
Size: 8.5"X11"
This A-SUB sublimation paper is a great quality. I have been using it for many years and have had absolutely no issues. I use it with an Epson 2780 inkjet printer. I have never had a jamming issue or smudging.

Happy to find a seller that carries the 120
Size: 8.5"X11"
I’ve been doing sublimation since May 2025. I have tried a variety between 105, 120 and 125. I’m not exactly sure why 120 ASub it is becoming harder to find . I absolutely love it. When I make my stainless steel tumblers, my colors pop more with 120.

Great Sublimation Paper – Perfect for Mugs
Size: 8.5"X11"
I purchased A-SUB Sublimation Paper 8.5x11 Inch 120GSM and I’m very happy with the results. The colors transfer beautifully. I used it for sublimation mugs and the print came out vibrant, sharp, and very professional-looking. No fading, no dull colors. I also tried using it for a cap, but the issue was not the paper — my cap heat press machine didn’t perform well and the transfer failed. For mugs, this paper works perfectly. Highly recommend for mug sublimation projects.
