The Christian Tradition: A History of the Development of Doctrine, Volume 5, Volume 5: Christian Doctrine and Modern Culture (Since 1700)Jaroslav Pelikan begins this volume with the crisis of orthodoxy that confronted all Christian denominations by the beginning of the eighteenth century and continues through the twentieth century in its particular concerns with ecumenism. Jaroslav Pelikan begins this volume with the crisis of orthodoxy that confronted all Christian denominations by the beginning of the eighteenth century and continues through the twentieth century in its particular concerns with ecumenism. The modern period in the history of Christian doctrine, Pelikan demonstrates, may be defined as the time when doctrines that had been assumed more than debated for most of Christian history were themselves called into question: the idea of revelation, the uniqueness of Christ, the authority of Scripture, the expectation of life after death, even the very transcendence of God. Knowledge of the immense intellectual effort invested in the construction of the edifice of Christian doctrine by the best minds of each successive generation is worth having. And there can hardly be a more lucid, readable and genial guide to it than this marvellous work.--Economist This volume, like the series which it brings to a triumphant conclusion, may be unreservedly recommended as the best one-stop introduction currently available to its subject.--Alister E. McGrath, Times Higher Education Supplement Professor Pelikan's series marks a significant departure, and in him we have at last a master teacher.--Marjorie O'Rourke Boyle, Commonweal Pelikan's book marks not only the end of a dazzling scholarly effort but the end of an era as well. There is reason to suppose that nothing quite like it will be tried again.--Harvey Cox, Washington Post Book WorldBinding Type: Paperback

Nice watch at a very good price.
Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Black Dial-2870
Favorite watch in my collection. I wear it every day, and at the price point, if breaks in six months I will buy another just like it.

Best cheap time piece there is
Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Blue Dial-2870
I’ve been a chef for years and having a great watch that keeps time as well as it looks classy is a tough ask when you’re exposing said watch to high heat over the range, extreme lows putting away vendor orders in the walk in fridge or freezer (sometimes up to an hour or 2 at a time), getting popped with hot oil and sauces, and doing dishes when our dishwasher is a no show. I do take this off to make seasoned flour for fried chicken or seafood, but it can easily be kept clean and it keeps time EXTREMELY well. I get several compliments on it from other chefs and even the guests at our restaurants both in downtown Charleston and the resort at Kiawah Island. Just don’t bang the face of the watch into a steel prep table (it will chip or scratch). But it is possible to replace the face at a local jeweler, and at any desired quality or price bracket. I own this watch in several colors and have used them for 2 years now. I’ve been very happy with OLEVS all around.

Affordable, comfortable, and practical watch
Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Green Dial-2870, Color: Gold Silver Stainless Steel/Green Dial-2870
This watch is very good for its price range, of course this isn’t a Seiko, but what do you expect for under $50. I’m extremely excited about this watch and just finished removing some links for it to fit. That’s the worst part removing the links which is very difficult even with the tool that was supplied. Now, we’ll see how long the watch will last and hold up after everyday being worn. It’s a good looking and comfortable watch that’s inexpensive.
