When underground movement is detected, the spears are thrust into the ground, quickly killing the mole. For your convenience, the trap comes fully assembled and ready-to-use. After identifying active tunnels, collapse a portion, then use the foot pegs to set the trap in place in the softened ground. Raise and lower the handle until the spears move freely in the ground. Then, with feet on the foot pegs, raise the handle to set the trap. You can have peace of mind in knowing that the trap’s spears are located below ground, away from children and pets.

Packaging is a mess and product requires force to put parts together

Packaging is awful, makes a complete mess. The product itself is okay, the little rods that come with it don't slide in easily and force you to scrape the metal with them when you install it , not the greatest design. Instructions also are not the best. Also, why are the holes to hang the shelf at the bottom?? Doesn't make much sense
