. . . thoroughness and most impressive scholarship . . . much entertaining detail and . . . pleasant humour. -- The Times Literary Supplement (London)
Underwear -- practical garments with a utilitarian function or body coverings that serve an erotic purpose? As this fascinating and intelligently written study shows, the role played by underclothing over the last several centuries has been a varied one.
In a well-documented, profusely illustrated volume combining impressive scholarship with an entertaining, often humorous style, two distinguished clothing historians consider undergarments worn by the English over the past 600 years. Beginning with the Middle Ages, the authors cover centuries of clothing history, including the Tudor period, the Restoration, the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and the twentieth century up to the eve of World War II. Drawing on extensive, research, the Cunningtons illuminate the role and function of underwear: it protected the wearer against the elements, supported costume shapes, served as an erotic stimulus, symbolized class distinctions, and fulfilled other social, sanitary, and economic functions.
Enhancing the detailed, comprehensive text are more than 100 period illustrations and photographs depicting a laced-up bodice of the twelfth century, embroidered linen drawers of the sixteenth century, a hooped petticoat support in bentwood (c. 1750), footed long drawers (1795), nineteenth-century bustles, early nineteenth-century corsets for men, Frillies for the Tiny Lady (1939), and much more. A bibliography, appendix, and index complete a valuable reference work that will appeal to costume historians, sociologists, and other readers.

Fabulous and sooooo soft
Color: Tie-dye Khaki, Size: Throw(50"x60"), Color: Tie-dye Khaki, Size: Throw(50"x60")
This blanket is so extremely soft and cozy. The only reason I deducted a star was because the fur side and the velvety side aren’t sew together anywhere besides the edges/seams, so when I fold it it’s basically like 2 blankets just sewn together and not one blanket. When you lie with it and cover you, they sort of separate if that makes sense but it doesn’t bother us. It’s so comfy to have on the couch and while movie watching. The only time it sort of a pain is when I fold it. In saying that, I would buy again. The velvety side is a soft tan/beige and the fur side is creams, off white and variations of the tan/beiges. So lovely. You can see it next to a solid cream colored blanket I have that I also bought on Amazon. It matches well and I love it!

This one is really soft
Color: Tie-dye Khaki, Size: Throw(50"x60")
This is actually baby bunny soft! I was very pleasantly surprised. The top side is plush and the bottom side is smooth but in a velvety suede type smooth. It is very well made and after machine washing and drying it several times it still looks and feels new.

The blanked you never knew you needed
Color: Tie-dye Gray, Size: Twin(60"x80")
I originally ordered a blunique heated blanked and loved it so much I got this throw for the couch. I love it so much it has since been moved into my bedroom and I will be ordering extras for guests as well as to keep on the couch. The color is beautiful, and the faux rabbit fur is so incredibly soft. I snuggle this part of the blanket next to my face when I sleep and am immediately out. Highly recommend.

Beautiful scented candle sage.
The candle itself is a lovely scent of sage and salt. The size is larger than expected and is a good value for the money. I like the blue green glass and it’s beautiful to look at when not lit Even. It came in a nice packaged Blue box. But the bottom of the box was coming apart and it would not have been acceptable to give as a gift In the original Box it came in.
