This one is special.
It was the first ever abstract portrait started back in 2019. First painting after becoming a mother. I had a very long break from the studio when my son was born. This work was a new turn in my practice, a timid beginning of a new chapter that I now feel was a turning point.
I had to learn how to work with the creative flow in a completely different way. I always painted into the night, after work, on weekends, the quiet time with no distractions. Becoming a mother changed that. The night time was no longer my time to create. I had no time. I had to learn how to work without inspiration, how to harness the creative drive when I had it (usually in a park pushing the buggy) and then tap back into it when I had a moment alone. The most important of all the new tricks was finding a new balance and figuring out how to be gentle with myself, do the work but also not burn out.
It made me a better painter.
It now reminds me of how far I’ve made it since those early days. How much we can achieve with a bit of determination. A journey of thousand miles that started one morning…

No hassle to file and get a claim resolved.
I have to say, I expected a lot of hoops to jump through. Companies are all very eager to take your money, but when it comes time to pay out, in this case (Product Insurance) quite often it is a different story. But to my surprise that is not the case with Asurion. I submited my claim, and a few days latter I received my check. At 77 and retired from the computer field i have seen alot of things with companies that do not care about customer service and satisfaction. But when you make a purchase from Amazon with their 30 day return policy and Asurion insurance. You can't beat it.
