This older jadeite has moderate translucence throughout. Light light part looks white, but has soft lavender hues throughout. Very "yin" Now for the "yang": gorgeous green vein that varies in shade from apple green as shown on top in the first photo, to deeper green. And a tiny green vein on the opposite side of the big veins give a little more "yang"

Blissful "old mine" Burmese jadeite bangle bracelet,  Size is 53.5 mm inside diameter, 14.5 mm wide.  This older jadeite has moderate translucence throughout.  Light light part looks white, but has soft lavender hues throughout.  Very "yin"  Now for the "yang":  gorgeous green vein that varies in shade from apple green as shown on top in the first photo, to deeper green.  And a tiny green vein on the opposite side of the big veins give a little more "yang" to make this a balancing yin and yang jade for body, mind and spirit.  Icy cold to the touch.  High "chime" indicates the fine quality of the jadeite stone.  Silky smooth and well polished all around.  This is a real treasure to own and wear.

Purchased during our 2002 jade shopping trip in China near the Burma border, directly from the jade carver so we can view the quality of the jadeite he buys, carves and sells.  Tested by refraction, genuine Burmese jadeite.  

Note:  I purchased this jade bangle for myself, the reason I paid the higher price.  It's been hidden in a drawer with my other jade bangle bracelets, and it should be on a wrist, not in a drawer.  This is truly a "heavenly" jade bangle bracelet.  The photo cannot capture all the "glow" of this high value jade bangle.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
