Deliberately experimental in its structure, intentions and achievements, ÒThe Start-UpÕs,Ó as the session was titled, was made up of an online magazine, a residency and an exhibition, and took place in the small village of Les Arques, France, but also internationally and virtually. From April to September 2014, it acted as a diffuse cloud that gathered the trajectories of many busy, talented and creative individuals. "La Start-Up: A Reader" is an idealist attempt to freeze the unceasing stream of our mutual feeds, and to generate a critical discourse about how the Internet has influenced recent art production, challenging positions of power between centers and peripheries but also creating new synergies between heterogeneous communities.
