Geek Alert:  We’re not featuring this wine because it's great value.  We’re featuring this wine because we love it!  I think it's probably my favorite young Piemontese wine that I've tasted this year & I've tasted a lot.  Ghemme is one of the most important regions of the Alto-Piemonte and there's no question that Tiziano Mazzoni and his wines set a new standard for Ghemme.  What you'll find in Ghemme and above all with Mazzoni is Nebbiolo both elegant and powerful with an emphasis on red fruits and roses, and tannins that are supple and fine-grained.  The pride of the estate and a gorgeous Ghemme for the cellar, 'ai Livelli' is a selection of vines planted in 1968 from within the 'dei Mazzoni' vineyard.  The 2019 ai Livelli already shows incredible aromatic fireworks.  The palate is expressive with plenty of aeration but this wine is really built for the cellar and will age as well the finest 2019 Barolo and Barbarecos.  Fans of Nebbiolo from anywhere need to check this wine out.  Stock up!
