Its 4" wide and 3.25" tall, oval opening is perfectly sized for this duck, and the deep body keeps nestlings far away from predators. An overhanging, slightly sloped roof prevents rain from entering the home, and slits beneath it ensure plenty of ventilation. Corner gaps on the nest floor offer drainage, and a metal grid below the entry helps fledglings climb to it when ready to exit. One side panel opens in dual levels for cleaning or nest checks, and makes it easy to affix a mounting bracket (not included) to the base for placement on a post.
