On the quiet roadside of Karimunjawa, an island adrift off Java’s northern coast, an eight-year-old girl swayed gently on a handmade swing. Suspended by thick yellow ropes, the swing was a simple creation—woven with care by a mother never too far, always watching.

Beril was both shy and open, a child of quiet wonder. The batik dress she wore—bold in hues of yellow, red, and orange, yet anchored by deep black—danced with the rhythm of her movements. The explosion of colors stood in perfect harmony with the lush greens surrounding her, seamlessly blending into the world she called home. The soft bokeh in the background, formed by distant trees, scattered gentle circles of light—an ethereal frame that cradled her presence in a dreamlike embrace.

A brief exchange with her mother, a few moments of trust earned. Slowly, she returned to her swing, fingers tightening around the ropes, her small frame leaning into the motion.
