To understand China, it is essential to understand Confucianism. First formulated in the sixth century BCE, the teachings of Confucius would come to dominate Chinese society, politics, economics, and ethics. In this Very Short Introduction, Daniel K. Gardner explores the major philosophical ideas of the Confucian tradition, showing their profound impact on state ideology and imperial government, the civil service examination system, domestic life, and social relations over the course of twenty-six centuries. Gardner focuses on two of the Sage's most crucial philosophical problems-what makes for a good person, and what constitutes good government-and demonstrates the enduring significance of these questions today. This volume shows the influence of the Sage's teachings over the course of Chinese history--on state ideology, the civil service examination system, imperial government, the family, and social relations--and the fate of Confucianism in China in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as China developed alongside a modernizing West and Japan. Some Chinese intellectuals attempted to reform the Confucian tradition to address new needs; others argued for jettisoning it altogether in favor of Western ideas and technology; still others condemned it angrily, arguing that Confucius and his legacy were responsible for China's feudal, ''backward'' conditions in the twentieth century and launching campaigns to eradicate its influences. Yet Chinese continue to turn to the teachings of Confucianism for guidance in their daily lives. In addition to a survey of the philosophy and history of Confucianism, Gardner offers an examination of the resurgence of Confucianism in China today, and explores what such a revival means for the Chinese government and the Chinese people. This is the only miss from Naked Sundays so far :(
I normally love naked Sundays. It’s my go to for face sunscreen especially. I’m not sure if I got a defective stick or something. It’s not expired or anything but I used it on a vacation and I got extremely burnt even with reapplying often. I just figured it was fluke thing maybe because it was winter and I was paler than normal. But we went on another vacation last week and my preteen daughter used it on her face and she ended up with a sunburn and rash. She’s never had a sunburn before as she has an olive skin tone. She ended up having to use an antihistamine medication for how bad her skin hurt and cool cloths. Like I said, I LOVE their other products so I’m wondering if I got a defective batch or something.

Works on dark hair, too and lasts for multiple dyes.
I got this because my nephew wanted to have red hair for a day. It works really well. Its super vibrant, even if you have darker colored hair, which is surprising. A little goes a long way, so you can dye your hair several times with just one bottle. It washes out very easily. One wash and its out. Also, it came out of a pillowcase pretty well when he played his head down on the pillow. You have to wait till it ia dry to touch it, or it does your hands a little, but it still does not stain skin.

Happy Halloween 2025
The dye is very pigmented which is a plus
I just wished the instructions where more clear on how to apply the dye to your hair. I just regret applying the dye first to my hair and then fixing my hair up. When I passed the hair brush to fix my hair some paint came off. So I had to reapply the dye. Luckily I have a little bit of hair so I was able to have extra dye on the can. So if you're reading this. I recommend fixing up your hair first, pass the brush do what you got to do first. And then once you have your hair the way you want it. Spray the hair dye into your hair. It much easier and your hair doesn't get tangled. But other than that the hair dye was a good purchase for me because the value of it and the pigmentation it came with.
