ROGETI PT-120: A New Generation of Lightweight Gimbal Head

Ideal for:

Wildlife Photography/Bird (BIF) Photography/Sports Photography/Long-Lens Tracking

As telephoto lenses have become significantly lighter over the past decade, the tools designed to support them have changed surprisingly little.

Since 2010, only one telephoto lens weighing more than 5 kg has been introduced—the Nikon AF-S 800mm f/5.6. Yet most gimbal heads still weigh 1 kg or more. For wildlife and sports photographers, that extra weight reduces mobility, increases fatigue, and adds unnecessary burden to every trip into the field.

The ROGETI PT-120 was designed for a new generation of telephoto equipment.

At only 396 g, it weighs little more than a compact ball head while delivering capabilities rarely found in conventional gimbal designs. By eliminating unnecessary weight and rethinking how a gimbal head should work, the PT-120 makes long-lens photography lighter, more capable, and more enjoyable.

Gimbal Redefined:

Sub-400g (14 oz) Agility, Lighter Than Most Ball Heads

The ROGETI PT-120 gimbal head redefines heavy-duty telephoto support. At less than 400g (14 oz), it weighs even less than a standard medium ball head. Combined with a lightweight tripod, it drastically reduces your carrying weight, elevating your endurance during high-altitude treks and demanding wildlife tracking.

From 600mm Lenses to Smartphones:

Infinite Versatility, Zero Downtime

Engineered with high-precision machining and exceptional structural rigidity, the compact PT-120 gimbal head delivers heavy-duty payload capacity. It effortlessly handles flagship super-telephoto lenses like the Sony 600mm F4, providing rock-solid stability for dynamic tracking.

Thanks to its scientifically optimized architecture, a simple swap to a phone clamp instantly transforms the PT-120 into a lightweight setup for daily vlogging and short-form video creation. Transition seamlessly from professional wildlife photography to effortless everyday documentation—all with one fluid system.

Ideal for: Wildlife & Birding / Mobile Vlog / Super-Telephoto Tracking

Full-Angle Dynamic Balance:

No Limits on Angles or Weight

The PT-120 features exceptional full-angle dynamic balance capabilities. Even when paired with heavy lenses and tilted at extreme angles, it delivers precise counterbalance, maintaining stable positioning throughout the full range of motion. You can shoot with confidence without ever needing to lock the axes. When paired with a dedicated quick-release plate featuring an alignment scale (such as the ROGETI S800), finding the perfect balance point becomes instantaneous.

The Ultimate "Overhead" Solution:

360° Unrestricted Tracking for Overhead Birds

Thanks to its patented eccentric cantilever architecture, the PT-120 gimbal head truly unlocks the ability to track birds or aircraft passing directly overhead!

Beyond capturing the skies, it tilts completely downward for a top-down "God's eye view," allowing you to explore the macro world of insects right after birding. It is equally effortless for flat-lay product photography, artwork reproduction, or desktop content creation.

Smartphone-Assisted Aiming:

Instant Target Acquisition

Ultra-telephoto lenses beyond 400mm suffer from an extremely narrow field of view, making it incredibly easy to lose track of moving subjects. The PT-120 solves this by supporting an optional smartphone mount, allowing you to utilize your phone's lens (paired with apps like Blackmagic Cam) as a wide-field "optical sight" to locate and frame targets instantly. For optimal alignment and minimal parallax, we recommend pairing this setup with an un-enclosed battery compartment L-plate to keep both lenses perfectly centered on the same axis.(OPTIONS:Double-sided Clamp & Smartphone Clamp

Secure Any Arca-Swiss Plate:

Powered by the Gen-4 CAP-360 Module

Conventional panoramic clamps often cram the equipment lock and panning lock onto the same level, relying on a screw directly pressing against the axis. This results in weak locking force, a short lifespan, and limited jaw travel that fails to secure Arca-Swiss plates safely.

The PT-120's 360-module (engineered with ROGETI’s 4th-generation panning architecture) features a raised heavy-duty panning lock, a large-diameter collet-style copper ring, and an extended-travel quick-release jaw. This ensures both the panning and equipment locks fully meet the mechanical demands of a gimbal head, while delivering a rock-solid, secure grip on any third-party Arca-Swiss plate.

Grease-Free Damping Performance:

Smooth at -20°C, Zero Freeze at -40°C

Many gimbal heads rely on damping grease to create a smooth operating feel. In sub-zero temperatures, the grease can thicken significantly, resulting in sluggish movement and making it difficult to track fast-moving subjects.

The PT-120 takes a different approach. Its smooth, controlled movement is generated through precision mechanical fit rather than damping grease. Only a minimal amount of specialized lubricant is used internally for wear reduction and long-term reliability.

As a result, the PT-120 maintains responsive operation in extreme cold conditions without the stiffness commonly associated with grease-dependent designs.

Note: Due to the precision-machined mechanical interfaces, a faint and uniform mechanical feedback sound may be audible in exceptionally quiet indoor environments. This is a normal characteristic of high-precision mechanical assemblies.

Storage Mode 1:

Compression Mode

The compression mode significantly reduces the size of the gimbal, making it ideal for storing the gimbal head inside camera bags or lens bags.

Storage Mode 2:

Inverted Mode

The inverted mode significantly reduces the combined size of the gimbal head and tripod (the combined length of the PT-120 and T32 LitePlus is just 62cm / 24.4 inches), making it ideal for fitting into tripod bags or carrying comfortably by hand.

Furthermore, the integrated strap loop, precision-machined via advanced CNC routing directly into the main cantilever arm, allows for direct, pack-free shoulder carrying of the entire tripod and gimbal setup. This offers a highly mobile and secure alternative for fast-paced field shooting. Thoughtfully designed, it shares the same shoulder strap with its matching tripod bag, simplifying your gear requirements.

Efficient Modular Design:

Replacement, Repair, and Upgrades

    • Modular Tilt Axis: Enables the eccentric cantilever architecture, completely eliminating angular restrictions for full-angle tracking.

    • Modular Panning Axis: Allows for precise horizontal center-of-gravity adjustments, while enabling the ultra-compact Inverted Storage Mode.

This highly modular architecture delivers exceptional convenience for routine maintenance, system upgrades, and component replacement—such as swapping the panning section with the ROGETI GZA geared horizontal micro-adjustment cap for ultra-precise panning control.

Configurable Left/Right Cantilever:

 Optimized Ergonomics for Any Lens

    • Lightweight Telephotos (Left-Side Setup): For smaller telephoto lenses where the lens foot sits closer to the camera body, mounting the cantilever on the left ensures maximum clearance. This setup allows seamless switching between horizontal and vertical orientations without any structural interference.

    • Super-Telephoto Lenses (Right-Side Setup): When handling massive flagship lenses, the lens foot is positioned near the center of gravity. Mounting the cantilever on the right opens up the left side of the lens completely, giving your left hand unrestricted access to the zoom ring, focus ring, and function buttons while your right hand stays on the camera grip.

Can I have Term 2 now?
Format: Kindle
This is by far my favorite book of Lyra's to date. I gobbled this book up so fast, I was so upset I finished it. I know this is going to be a book I reread, just like Fate Hollow Academy. I loved Fate Hollow Academy, so I was excited when Lyra announced she was taking us readers back to Kalista. Although the characters from Fate Hollow are mentioned several times throughout the book, this book is about Pandora and her love interests in the Demon Realm. Before you deep dive into this book, definitely look at the trigger warnings before you start. When Lyra says there's dark themes in this book, she meant it. Also, just know this book does end on a cliffhanger and will probably leave you with as many questions as it did me. Below may contain some minor spoilers, so keep that in mind if you want to keep reading my review. Pandora's first 2 decades of her life are full of torture, hatred, and confinement in a cellar. That is until her father finds her and brings her into the world she was supposed to live in. Because of her upbringing she wasn't acclimated to the Demon world and the way their society works so when she is offered the chance to go to a Demon Reform Accademy, she accepts it to learn the ways of society and how she is supposed to feed. Pandora isn't like the other common demons in this world, no. She, like her father Death, are soul-eaters. Pandora is too scared to release her powers because she doesn't want to kill anyone, so she needs to learn how to feed off of a piece of soul instead of taking the whole thing. Because of who her father is, she's classed as a Noble, and while she doesn't agree with her fellow Noble students, who look down on the "lower" class, she also is faced with 3 Demons who hate her for being a Noble. Theses a lot of back and forth tension which these 3 demons who have issues of their own. One is obsessed with her, and wants to know all of her secrets. One leaks fear all over the place, but also is scared of the "princess" -wink- -wink-. One is a complete drunk who doesn't like her just because he's got family Noble problems. Don't worry, there are 2 other demons who are just the sweetest towards her. One who will get vengeance for anything done to her, he's got Golden Retriever energy around her and touch her and die energy for anyone around her. Finally, there is one who is friends with her even when the whole school is scared of her, who brings her into his dreams and will create nightmares for those who bother her.

This was more than I expected...
Format: Kindle
So...I finished this book at nearly 2am! It was just that hard to put down. I loved that it's set in the same world as Fates Hollow but in the future. Poor Pandora has been through so much but there's light at the end of the tunnel for her. She finally meets her dad and it turns out he's amazing. In order to help her learn about demon society and how to control her magic he sends her to the Demon Reform Academy. There she meets 2 awesome demons who help her and care for her. She also sadly meets her 3 tormentors. I will say though that while they do bully Pandora they also rescue her several times and defend her. They too have traumatizing pasts and can't see the good that is in front of them. Of course demon society needs to be shaken up too since that's part of the problem. I really enjoyed this read. I teared up a few times throughout the book but I liked the characters and that ending...well it looks like 3 in denial are going to need to grovel hard.

MUST READ BOOK!!
Format: Kindle
I was in a huge reading slump, when one of my favorite authors recommended this book in her readers group (The amazing Marie Mistry 🫶) and I absolutely DEVOURED this book. Now I’m in the club crying about having to wait until December for Term 2! This book is about a girl named Pandora who has suffered a life that nobody would ever wish to have. This book is about Pandora learning how to live, learning about herself and what she really wants. She has a long journey to find out all of these things, but she took the first steps in this book and it was beautiful to read. Some of the men in this book are our dream men, Hunter and Reed 😍 and then we have the men who need some work and who we all really just want to beat up until they admit what they really feel, Skel, Bram and Dexter. But that cliffy was a killer and I absolutely cannot wait until the next book!! You have written an absolute dream of a book Lyra and I eagerly await the next installment in this series!!!

AMAZING debut novel!!!
Format: Kindle
Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️.5 Romance 💘💘💘 Vibes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dual 1st person POV - Ara (26) & Rogue (39 - but looks mid-20s: they can live hundreds of years so this isn't that large of a gap as it could've been which I heavily appreciate lol) Tropes: enemies to lovers, fae/human wars (deep hatred for each other), shifters (dragons- MMC can only partial shift with wings), one horse, one bed, touch her and d!e, found family, abduction turned to freedom The Last Storm is the debut novel from JD Linton and let me tell you, you guys NEED to read this. The plot was engaging and the editing was was amazing (especially for a debut novel). Our FMC, Ara, is stuck in her gilded cage longing for a life outside of her small town. She uses her books to escape and live vicariously through the pages (honestly, relatable). After her father announces her betrothal to her childhood friend (to whom she has no romantic feelings for), Ara tumbles unknowingly into a desperate plot trying to stop the humans from slaughtering the Fae. As one can expect from an enemies to lovers / kidnapper/captive romance, Ara fights her attraction and lust towards our MMC, Rogue (the King of the Fae), for as long as she can. Upon seeing Ara for the first time, Rogue is instantly aware that she is his fated mate (not a spoiler). Since she is the General's only daughter, he plans to abduct her and use her as leverage to stop the brutality. During Ara's time in Rogue's captivity, their banter and chemistry continue to rise until they finally boil over and come together (quite literally, and many times I may add 😉). Here's what I LOVED: - Rogue continuously seeks advice from his elders and deeply respects their opinions and life experience and tries to implement their recommendations - Rogue makes many mistakes in the beginning but we see him actively work on not repeating them as the book progresses. The level of self-awareness and his ability to change his behavior was impressive - The magic system is intricate and we have only scraped the surface. As the series continues and Ara progresses in her powers, I'm sure we'll get to see more of this. I absolutely LOVE the messaging system that is used in this book. - Ara's struggles are so human and so raw. She is experiencing so much guilt and pain and hurt and getting to see her work through each of these emotions is inspiring. Especially as her and Rogue get closer and she learns she can lean on him as well, that she is not alone. - While this is the start of a series, there is NO cliffhanger! There's a bit of a teaser of something major that is going to happen at the start of the next book, but it's not a cliffhanger in the sense that we aren't sure if someone is going to live or d!e or if they'll be separated. For that, I am very thankful! This book was so much fun that I will definitely be returning to book 2, even if it takes several months (or longer since this is an debut author) to publish! - Lastly, the cover is GORGEOUS! And I love the title! I'll copy a few of my favorite quotes below so you can have a little taste of the author's writing and the world she's cultivated. 😊 Top Highlights from The Last Storm On days like this, when my heart was heavy and my mind clouded, I resorted to books— to escape, to forget, to find freedom where I had none. If I were to marry him, my face would always be turned to the window, searching for more, and if not that, I would be a shell of the person I am now. I stepped back to admire her, thr0bbing at the sight. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. To ever exist. Nothing, no one, had ever deserved to be worshiped more. All men should be made to kneel before her. But she would have to settle for me. The taste of her met my t0ngue as my scent merged with hers, forever branding her. Mine. I l!cked the wound. Hers. Completely and utterly hers. I didn’t claim her in ownership. I claimed her as my one. Devoted myself to one. With that mark, my body and soul were bound to her. I would never be with anyone else, emotionally or physically. It would be her or no one, until my last breath. “Scream my name. Let everyone know who I belong to.” I had never really cared about the weather before, but now, clear skies meant everything to me, and I was grateful to see another calm morning. “There will never be another woman for me.” He paused. “Ever.” I stilled at his words. “What… Why?” “This”— his thumb slid down across the mark—“ is a symbol of… surrender. I know you believe that it was my claim upon you, but it wasn’t. It never was. I bound my body and soul to you, little storm.” “I also know that it is more than this tiny, insignificant mark on your skin that binds me to you. It’s you. All of you. Your strength and resilience. Your determination to endure no matter what fate throws at you. Your love for love and stories and hope. You are entirely the opposite of everything that I am and I would gladly wear your shackles if it meant I could have you.” My mate. Mine. And then everything shifted and I understood. I understood everything. The surrender. The deep, soul-craving longing. Bound. I was bound to him. Body and soul. Entirely his. “I would’ve waited forever,” he whispered back, understanding. Seriously, everyone.. add this to your TBR!!

A Decent Fae Romance
Format: Kindle
** 3.5 Stars rounded up to 4 ** First off I want to say that I found the author, J. D. Linton, on TikTok right before the release of the sequel. I bought the first 2 books to support her release, so congrats to her for the release of the sequel! Overall, I liked the story & plot, I liked the characters, and I liked the spice. The downfalls: not enough development between the characters for the romance, and it leaned a little heavy into the tropes. A lot of stuff is told to you, which could have been used as devices to drive the plot and emotions of the characters. 🛑🛑 Mild Spoilers ahead, I tried to hide the obvious ones 🛑🛑 This is very obviously a fated mates, which is a trope I usually really enjoy. But I wish the relationship between Ara & Rogue had much more development before it's realized that they're mates, instead of Rogue knowing almost immediately and using it for nefarious purposes (at least in the beginning before they get to know each other). By revealing this within the first quarter of the book, I feel like it leaves less room for them to fall for each other organically (albeit with help from the mating bond) and they love each other because of the mating bond. I was disappointed as soon as Rogue know (literally only 5% in) and I literally made a note: "As much as II love a good mating trope, I wish we had to work for it a little more. Where's the fun in just telling us?" I believe that by holding out and feeding the reader snippets of a potential bond, it would've been more rewarding as a reader. I also wish there was more world building - we are told of a war between human & fae but don't get to really experience any of it. Ara is sheltered in her human home, then sheltered in Rogue's castle. There's bits and pieces about what the war has done on either side - but we're more told of the aftermath and don't really experience any of it. Ara's father is supposed to be the king's #1 general - yet he is at home with his family & with Ara for the first couple chapters. Her, her family, nor her village seem to be affected by the 10 year war going on on their borders. I wish there was a little more setup to make this conflict - an actual war - feel more than a skirmish between fighting territories. Linton could also be a little repetitive - with the biggest culprit being when Ara is upset she "brings [her] knees to [her] chest]" and either sits like that or cries. Every time she is upset this phrase is mentioned. I would get it if this was her crutch, or how she copes with grief and stress, but that should be explained why she does it so often or it becomes repetitive. I started to get annoyed with how often she would sit like this solely because it happens every couple chapters. However, I did really like the spice. I love an enemies to lovers trope, especially when it results in spicy scenes. The spicy scenes weren't anything new, but they were fun. Wish there were more but that could also just be me - there is no such thing as too much spice 😂 Would I read again? Probably not, I'm super picky with rereads. Although I did genuinely enjoy my first read through! Will I continue the series? Probably, at least for the sequel. As for #3, kind of depends on where I am with my TBR once that is released All in all an enjoyable, fast paced read
