Shaky Ground: The Strange Saga of the U.S. Mortgage GiantsFannie Mae and Freddie Mac were created by Congress to serve the American Dream of homeownership. By the end of the century, they had become extremely profitable and powerful companies, instrumental in putting millions of Americans in their homes. So why does the government now want them dead? Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were created by Congress to serve the American Dream of homeownership. By the end of the century, they had become extremely profitable and powerful companies, instrumental in putting millions of Americans in their homes. So why does the government now want them dead? In 2008, the U.S. Treasury put Fannie and Freddie into a life-support state known as "conservatorship" to prevent their failure--and worldwide economic chaos. The two companies, which were always controversial, have become a battleground. Today, Fannie and Freddie are profitable again but still in conservatorship. Their profits are being redirected toward reducing the federal deficit, which leaves them with no buffer should they suffer losses again. China and Japan are big owners of Fannie and Freddie securities, and they want to ensure the safety of their investments--which helps explain why the government is at an impasse about what to do. But the current state of limbo is unsustainable. Based on comprehensive reporting and dozens of interviews, Shaky Ground by bestselling author Bethany McLean, chronicles the story of Fannie and Freddie seven years after the meltdown, and tells us why homeownership finance is now one of the biggest unsolved issues in today's globalBinding Type: Paperback

No bow tie
Color: Burgundy, Size: XX-Large
Perfect fit for my son he's 6'2" about 220lbs. He ordered 2XL . I would've gave it 5 stars but he did not receive the bow tie, and his prom is tomorrow! Now I gotta go out snd spend more money buying the bow tie separately.

Sharp suit
Color: Black, Size: X-Small, Color: Black, Size: X-Small
The quality of the suit is very nice. The material feels thick and does not feel cheap at all. My son and I were both very pleased with this three piece suit altogether. We went off of size recommendation and due to personal preference we both agreed if we weren’t already in time crunch we would’ve sized up one size. Still managed to make it work and looked very sharp.
He is 5’10” 150lbs - size ordered extra small

Suited & Booted—Holiday Flex Achieved
This Rogers & Morris 3-piece suit? Straight fire—and for $69.99, it’s a no-brainer. I grabbed the Wine Red set for a Christmas kickback, and let me tell you—I was clean. The slim fit hugged just right, no chokehold, and the fabric’s smooth like Sunday service vocals. That poly-viscose blend? Breezy but built to last.
The jacket’s got that one-button drip with flap pockets—classic but not dusty. Vest came correct, pants sat nice, and the whole set had me looking like I walked out of a holiday card. Folks were throwing compliments like confetti.
Sizing was no stress—followed the chart, locked in my height and weight, and boom, perfect fit. And it’s machine washable? Say less. No dry-clean drama, just toss it in cold with some neutral soap and keep it pushin’.
If you’re tryna pop out at a formal, flex at a family function, or just level up your closet game, this suit’s a certified win. Rogers & Morris did not miss—and at $69.99, you’re getting premium vibes without the premium tax.
