Handmade Long-Handled Gardening Hoe Tool
Discover the latest addition to the legendary Woodsman's Pal family: our handmade long-handled digging hoe, crafted for serious gardeners who demand durability, efficiency, and heirloom-quality tools. This heavy duty gardening hoe tool is designed for discerning enthusiasts – especially older gardeners and those seeking a low-effort, high-performance solution for tough soil work.
Unlike lightweight retail gardening hoes, this tool is built to handle compacted soil, sod, and deep root systems without bending or flexing.
Key Features of This Heavy Duty Gardening Hoe:
- Double-Blade Design: Features a narrow edge (1.5 inches) for precise root cutting and weeding, paired with a wider edge (2.5 inches) for efficient trenching, sod breaking, and soil turning – perfect for hundreds of applications, from planting bulbs to reclaiming overgrown beds.
- 60-Inch Premium Ash Wood Handle: The extra-long handle provides exceptional swing arc and leverage, reducing back strain and effort while allowing you to work upright. Its unique rectangular shape ensures perfect blade orientation on every impact, with a comfortable grip and beautiful "American Oak" stain for lasting elegance and strength.
- Optimized Weight & Impact Angle: The two pound steel head is engineered to slice through tough roots, compacted sod, and heavy clay with minimal force – making digging, weeding, and cultivating easier than ever, especially for seniors or anyone prioritizing comfort.
- Handmade Heritage: Based on a proven multi-generational design from a Virginia family farm, this tool combines traditional craftsmanship with modern practicality. Far superior to mass-produced retail options, it's built to become a family heirloom.

It doesn’t stay in
The pipe keeps coming out. Not worth the money. Not sturdy to hold a top table.

Good finish, poor hardware.
Set screws are poor quality and are sometimes powdercoated on the exposed threads. Leads to striped hex sockets and inability to tighten properly.
Durable finish as evidenced by no visible damage after throwing parts across the shop in frustration.
Ended up running self tapping screws thru parts to complete assembly.

Kinda flimsy…
Thought the assembly was metal, it’s some kind of PVC.

nice sturdy frame
We had a piece of actual wood lane from a bowling alley that i wanted a table made out of. Which made it weigh about 400 pounds, guessing. Our biggest worry about this is the frame holding it up with grandkids around!!! And being able to move it to sit behind it or clean around it when needed. This was what we decided on. Tim said it was super easy to put it together. The height was just a tad taller than our chairs, but there are pieces that can be taken out to accommodate this. When i told my husband it had wheels on it and definitely would aid moving it around. He said oh yeah, that's going to work real well with the weight of this table. And trust me it was said very sarcastically. So, that these worked as well as they have, really impressed him. We have friends that we gave a piece of lane to so they could make a bar in their kitchen out of it. He bought some pipe in town and he paid a heck of a lot more money out than we wanted to put out. So, we were extremely happy to find this. It is sturdy, great value and we are all very happy with it and it looks great! I highly recommend it. I think no matter what you are going to use it for, it is going to fit into any decor.

Quite good!
Quite a solid set of legs. It little flimsier than I had hoped for but we are not moving the table we built around much. The wheels are also quite small. I would purchase again though!
