Les Délaissées Meet Santa focuses on a Christmas/holiday theme involving French heritage and the Santa Claus predecessor, Père Noël and his acolyte Petit Âne a little donkey who accompanies him. Santa Claus is officially introduced to them in this episode. It also alludes to Michigan's connection with the early arrival of French explorers and their introduction of Christianity to make friends with the Native American tribes already established here for centuries. Michigan has many towns and places named for these early explorers and their pathways in, on, and around the Great Lakes where they traveled and left their historical imprints. These places offer an opportunity for many people of the United States and the world to come, visit, and enjoy, for it is a breath-taking region of enchantment and great natural beauty.

The story is also a piece of holiday fiction dedicated to Christmas that I was able to fashion from my study of the French language, its history and culture, then mold into a delightful tale based on my experiences developing a sheep farm in Northern Michigan not far from the shores of Lake Michigan and Huron, adjacent the quaint cities of Mackinaw and Cross Village and across the straits from one of the oldest towns in the US, St. Ignace - not forgetting Mackinac Island and its step back in time with the Grand Hotel, horse drawn wagons and bicycles.

I've tried to keep the story simple but logical enough for adults and children together to enjoy. The main characters are three sheep I rescued five years ago as abandoned lambs, hence the term délaissées. Much time was spent with them, feeding and protecting them from the harsh temperatures and snowy conditions which exist in Northern Michigan from December through March. They are still in my flock and have delivered baby lambs of their own. Midnight, Moonlight, and Twilight will continued to entertain you throughout your reading pleasures.

He has three children, the youngest of whom lives in San Antonio, Texas, is married and blessed him with fraternal twin grandchildren. He is a retired USAF Lt Colonel with pilot licenses and was also a guidance counselor and Athletic Director in the Alanson Community School District from which he is also retired. As a previously published author, Colonel Shannon has produced his third story, concluding a trilogy about Midnight, Moonlight, and Twilight. Good not excellent
This book started off with lots of promise. It got my interest straight away and kept it there for a few chapters. It includes some intesting history facts of the age and enlists some of the characters of the age as well all of which I found very intersting and unique. However the general theme did not change. The Protaganist got better and better at killing and never really got into trouble. He goes from one adventure to another of similar sort with the same outcome. He kills everyone and gets away without problems. I had trouble finding the climax and wondered at many points if it was just a story that went on and on without an end. Overall a good light read if you don't expect much surprise or complex intrigue.

Neither bad nor terrific. A rehash of AC 2
Format: Kindle
I purchased the book hoping it would be something completely new with Ezio, a unique story told by the author that was unrelated to the series. Sadly, it wasn't. This book was great in refreshing much of what happens in Assassin's Creed 2 and some of the memory assignments you can do in Brotherhood (and perhaps Revelations too, though at the time of writing this review, I've only barely dug into Revelations). But because I knew what to expect, I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat to read it. The one tidbit I didn't like was that it seemed the author sometimes used too many commas. It's minor, but I frequently had to re-read some sentences to ensure it wasn't a run-on. I do like that there's a glossary in the back for the Italian that's frequently sprinkled in. All in all, if you've not played Assassins Creed 2, this would be great for quickly getting caught up (though I'd recommend the game instead for the visual/aural experience) or if you need a refresher. Otherwise, this might be a bit dull since you'll know what to expect.

better than the game
Format: Kindle
Assassins Creed Renaissance is a fantastic read whether you have played the game or not. It follows the story of assassins creed 2 to the letter but also adds more story elements that help answer some of the games little questions that were left unanswered. It is also a great read for anyone who hasn't played the game as it requires no prior knowledge of the assassins creed universe. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a more in depth look at the game or anyone who just wants a good book to read.
