Orchestra of Spheres welcomes you on a journey through the looking glass. Mirror, the band's 4th release on Fire Records, is an exploration of energies and atmospheres, from intense futuristic funk and sonic tape assemblages to windswept reflections from a far flung corner of the world. It combines Orchestra of Spheres' ecstatic rhythmic power and ritualistic vocals with an expanded orchestral palette including bassoon, harp, viola, bass clarinet, soprano sax, flute and bowed ektars.The album was recorded at Building M, the home and studio of Warwick Donald, a musician and engineer who's been recording underground local bands for many years. The band quickly put Warwick's collection of old New Zealand amps, mics and homemade reverb plates to good use. With the open recording set up and group interplay giving nods towards psychedelic jazz explorations. OOS dipped into Wellington's deep pool of creative musical talent to gather the additional timbres that take this musical journey into new sonic realms. Peter Daly's beautifully tense viola playing on the title track conjures a dark shadowy world. Right to the point without a lot of wordy fluff!
Format: Imitation Leather
I have tried a few other "daily devotional" books, but they were not what I was looking for in being "to the point" along with giving a couple scripture verses to get my day started. The day I received my copy, the devotion was about Salvation and two of the scriptures were from my two favorite chapters in the Bible. For me, that was a "God Moment"!

A Timeless Classic That Nourishes the Mind!

Where to even begin with Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"? This book has been a cornerstone of childhood for countless kids—and with good reason!
First and foremost, the visual elements are stunning. Eric Carle’s unique collage technique brings the story to life in a way that instantly captures the attention of both young and older readers. His choice of bold, vibrant colors is just like eye-candy for the young ones.
The tale itself is simple yet profound. A caterpillar eats its way through various foods, both healthy and not-so-healthy, growing bigger and ultimately transforming into a butterfly. On one level, it’s a delightful story about change and growth; on another, it subtly teaches children about the days of the week, counting, and nutrition.
I appreciate how the book incorporates little "holes" in the pages to indicate where the caterpillar has munched through, adding a tactile element to the reading experience. My 5-year-old loves poking her fingers through the holes, making the story not just a visual but also a sensory delight!
It’s also worth noting that the story is quick and to-the-point, making it perfect for bedtime or for little ones with shorter attention spans. But despite its brevity, it offers a wealth of topics to explore and discuss, from biology and metamorphosis to making healthier food choices.

A classic must have

I bought this book for a baby shower as it was one of my kids favorite books. It is absolutely the cutest book, and will be a great addition to anyone's library. Quality book, great pictures and story. Value for the book and story is hard to beat!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is such a sweet, beautifully illustrated book. The simple story, bright colors, and fun cut-out pages keep little ones completely engaged. It’s perfect for teaching counting, days of the week, and healthy eating in a way that feels playful and memorable.

One of the best books for babies.
