Bertha’s Revenge Gin is named after the legendary cow — Big Bertha, the world’s oldest cow. By the time she reached the near-mythical age of 48, she had given birth to 39 calves before she died in 1993. This unique gin is an ode to the fruitful cow, distilled by Ballyvolane House Spirits, a grass to glass distillery founded in May 2015. The facility is an Irish country inn along the Blackwater River. Ballyvolane House which translates from Gaelic as "the place of the leaping heifers" is the first artisan distillery to produce small batch milk gin from whey alcohol.

Whey alcohol serves as the base spirit for this unique premium gin, which makes it very distinct from other spirits. Whey is a byproduct of milk, Irish dairy farmers separate it from curds which are used to make cheese. A proprietary yeast is added to the whey, converting the milk sugars into alcohol, yielding a very high-quality whey spirit. Hand-distilled with 18 different botanicals which are locally foraged and grown, along with pure natural Irish spring water. The milk used for production is sourced from just 30 minutes away.

The lengthy list of botanicals: juniper, coriander, orris, licorice, cardamom, angelica, lemon, lime, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, almond, elderflower, alexander seeds, grapefruit, sweet woodruff and sweet and bitter orange, all coalesce into a truly distinct gin. When the whey spirit is ready, it is distilled, along with all of the botanicals in Ballyvolane’s 125-liter copper pot still. After a short maceration, the spirit is slowly distilled, the result is blended with spring water sourced from the estate’s spring and cut to a bottle strength 42% ABV. The Irish gin is handcrafted from start to finish in small batches, producing only 100 bottles per production run.

The softest skin you will ever have without any expensive products!!
Great for removing dead skin and peach fuzz. A lot of other blades have the little teeth that are great for preventing scrapes and cuts but don’t quite get close enough for me. You do have to be careful because they are very, very sharp and you can cut yourself. It does have rounded edge that is very helpful in preventing the little cuts. My skin is super smooth and my makeup goes on amazing after using. As a 47 year old that makes a huge difference.

Do not purchase
Size: #10R, Style: Pack of 10
Not sharp enough and does not work no matter what products you put under it to remove hair and how you use it. The durability is very cheap and it is not valuable even if it’s for less than $15. I would not recommend this product for your body including your face, upper lips, under arms, and anywhere on your body.

Individually wrapped blades for hygiene
Size: #14R, Style: Pack of 20
Very hygienic that it comes in individual packaging! Every blade comes with a cover and a small sandpaper to keep the blades sharp! Perfect to keep reusing on their own.

Great for Peach Fuzz, But Not as Sharp as I Expected
Size: #14R, Style: Pack of 20
I really liked that each dermaplaning blade is individually packaged, which helps keep them clean and sanitary until you’re ready to use them. As a hairstylist/barber who works with sharp tools every day, I did not feel like these blades were particularly sharp. That may actually be a positive for someone who is new to dermaplaning and wants something a little less aggressive. I used them on dry skin, but you can also use a facial oil for more glide. They did a nice job removing peach fuzz and left my skin feeling smooth afterward. Just be sure not to use them over active acne or irritated areas. While they worked well on facial hair, I didn’t notice much additional exfoliation from my first use. I’ll continue using them every couple of weeks and see how they perform over time. Overall, a decent option, especially for removing peach fuzz.
