Product Overview

Aminated magnetic microspheres are magnetic particles with surface modified with amino functional groups and superparamagnetic properties, which are widely used in biomedical and molecular biology research. The 1um aminated magnetic microspheres are composed of polystyrene and iron oxide nanoparticles, which are hydrophilic and biocompatible. The aminated magnetic microspheres are superparamagnetic, have fast magnetic response, good monodispersity, and ensure homogeneity of reaction and consistency of detection. The unique surface roughness structure and polymer modification make the aminated magnetic microspheres have high amine density, which can be covalently coupled with peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, drug molecules, glycoproteins and other biological ligands under the action of special chemical reagents (e.g., glutaraldehyde), and can be used as a good base material for encapsulation, which is an important carrier tool in medical and biomolecular research.

Superparamagnetism: Aminated magnetic microspheres are superparamagnetic and can be rapidly magnetised and show magnetic properties under an applied magnetic field, and then quickly lose their magnetic properties when the magnetic field is removed, facilitating manipulation and separation in biomedical applications. 

Surface Amino Functional Groups: The surface of these microspheres is rich in amino functional groups (-NH2), which can be covalently coupled with biomolecules (e.g., proteins, antibodies, oligonucleotides, etc.) via chemical cross-linking agents to enhance their functionality in biomedical applications. 

High specific surface area: Due to their nano or micron scale particle size, aminated magnetic microspheres have a high specific surface area, providing more active sites, which is suitable for immobilisation of biomolecules and catalytic reactions. 

Good biocompatibility: Aminoated magnetic microspheres are usually made of biocompatible materials that are safe to use in living organisms, reducing immune reactions and toxicity. 

Easy modification and functionalization: The surface of aminated magnetic microspheres can be modified by various chemical methods to introduce different functional groups, thus expanding their applications in biomedical fields.

Application Fields

Protein Separation and Purification: Aminated magnetic microspheres can be used for the separation and purification of proteins. By forming covalent bonds with specific amino acid residues of proteins (e.g. lysine), efficient separation of proteins is achieved. 

Cell Separation: These microspheres are also used in cell separation, where magnetic separation of cells is achieved by specific binding to molecules on the cell surface. 

Enzyme immobilisation: Amino magnetic microspheres can be used for the immobilisation of enzymes, which are covalently bonded to the surface of the microspheres, improving the stability and reusability of the enzymes. 

Immunoassay: In immunoassay, the aminated magnetic microspheres can be used as the material for the preparation of immunomagnetic beads, which can be used for immunoassay and analysis through covalent coupling with antibodies or antigens. 

Drug delivery: Aminoated magnetic microspheres can be used as drug carriers to achieve targeted drug delivery through surface modification. Under the action of an applied magnetic field, the microspheres can be guided to the diseased area, improving the efficacy of the drug and reducing side effects.

Due to the high magnetic content, the microsphere is easy to precipitate at the bottom after a long time of placement, and can be suspended again after a short time of ultrasonic treatment or vibration before use.
