LP version. With Chords, the Stockholm-based musician and composer Ellen Arkbro returns to Subtext, following her acclaimed debut album For Organ And Brass (SUB 011CD/021LP, 2017). This new long-player sees Arkbro adopt a more minimalist approach, focusing on the immediate qualities of sound and elegantly expanding the tonal capacities of acoustic instruments using precise, subtle synthesis. Composed of a carefully selected combination of tones, Chords stretches, extends and obscures the timbral character of the instruments it is performed on. Across both tracks, Arkbro examines the sonic materiality and harmonic quality of chords. She considers how the compositions occupy space rather than time - transposing theoretical possibilities into the phenomenal realm. As a part of Arkbro's systematic investigation of harmonic sound, Chords proffers a divergence from conventional ways of listening. "Chords For Organ" was first envisaged in Stockholm's brutalist Västerort Church. With an interest in tuned intervals and chords, Arkbro sought out particular harmonicities before synthetically supplying additional harmonic content and texture. To pure fifths and octaves, she adds synthesized natural sevenths and thirds, creating a heightened sense of harmonic stability. While this incarnation of "Chords For Organ" was recorded in Malmö's St. John's Church, this work is site-specific, requiring Arkbro to seek out appropriate chordal orchestrations in registers and tunings on each respective instrument, when performing live. "Chords For Organ" has been adapted and performed in Martin Luther Kirche in Dresden, Civico Tempio Di San Sebastiano in Milan, First Unitarian Church in Brooklyn, Lutherse Kerk in Den Haag and Sint-Jan de Doperkerk in Leuven. In the corresponding "Chords For Guitar" Arkbro applies her process to a more widely accessible instrument. Employing a fine-tuned Karplus-Strong synthesis, she supplements additional tones to create a harmonically controlled blend of the acoustic and the synthetic. "Chords For Guitar" places the listener at the center of a cyclically repeating complex of harmonic strings in wave-like motion. Attention is synchronously fixed with the sound as this chordal harmony rises, vibrates, and purrs away, before rising again. As she transposes these ideas across organ and guitar, Arkbro teases out their affinities and dissimilarities, and, in doing so, effectively highlights the harmonic character of the work as a whole.

Very Durable
This is the second wallet I've bought. Same type. First one was for a durability test. Pull, stretch, bend, twist at the seam, and it held up much better than similar wallets in the same price range. Highly recommend this wallet if you are hard on them like I am. Plenty of space for cards, cash, receipts, random papers and other items that seem to find their way into it throughout the year. And still doesn't feel big and bulky to sit on. I was a die hard trifold guy for many years because I couldn't find a bifold that could hold all my stuff in it. But this bifold holds everything and still has plenty of room for more. If you want a good quality wallet for a decent price the mossy oak Carhartt bifold is definitely the way to go, you won't be disappointed.

A very handsome watch, easy to read.
Size: 25mm, Color: Two-Tone/Two-Tone/White/25mm
I have worn Timex watches most of my life, aside from an occasional costly dress watch. This one is the prettiest yet!
Pros: the gold and silver mix of the band is the prettiest one I have seen. With the flexible stretch band. It is easy and comfortable to wear. So far, it is totally accurate on time, functional for easy vision with the large face. The light is easily activated with a slight pressure on the watch stem.
Cons: It fits me better than most watches but my wrists are fairly narrow. If you suspect it might be too tight for you, I would suggest looking at the specs for this watch and measuring your comfort needs. It does not flop around on my wrist like other watches I have owned. The only problem that forces me to buy a new Timex every 2 years is that if one uses the backlight button once a night, it normally stops lighting. After that, the actual watch battery is usually soon to go.
Summary: A very pretty watch with an easy to read face, helpful light activated by stem. Great value, always worth the reasonable price.

Great watch. Not too big, has a second hand and a light.
Size: 25mm, Color: Silver-Tone/Silver-Tone/White/A/25mm
I am a nurse, so this watch is perfect for administration of timed meds. The band is too big for my small wrist so I bought a leather band. I was not able to figure out how to remove segments from the original band, but a jeweler would be able to do this. It is pretty small, compared to the bigger watch faces that seem to be popular now.

Band a little snug, but great watch
Size: 25mm, Color: Two-Tone/Gold-Tone/White/25mm
I love Timex watches. This one is very attractive. The stretch band is a little tight. It is also hard to set the date in the little tiny date box. The packaging was minimal; looks like it wouldn’t take any rough handling. But the watch itself works great and is easy to read.

Classic & classy
Size: 25mm, Color: Silver-Tone/Silver-Tone/White/25mm
This watch was the perfect gift. The wrist band was a great fit. The backlight makes it easy to see the time in the dark. You can't beat a Timex.
