From 1986 to 1994 the author co-ordinated a network of dancing circles and individual people interested in celebrating the eight turning points of the year - the Celtic festivals - with Circle Dancing.
At each festival she sent out a short newsletter with the chosen dance, the exact time for dancing it, and the focus, ie somewhere on the earth where the energy was going to be directed.
There were circles involved throughout Europe, Canada, US, and Australia. This, it was felt, created a vibrant web of positive energy for the earth and for the people.
In addition to the details of the linking dance, the newsletters also contained history of the festivals, how they were celebrated and, increasingly, personal reflections on their meaning and relevance to everyday life.
At the end of eight years - eight festivals celebrated eight times - it was clear that it was complete and the link-up came to an end. This book is a compilation of the information and experiences of those eight years.
