issue #29. It was the first Monte Hale comic, but Fawcett picked up the numbering sequence

The Fawcett issues had beautiful photo covers Initially. Carl Pfeufer, best known for his
exciting work on FawcettÕs TOM MIX, drew MonteÕs stories with an inking assist from John
Jordan. Jack Binder and Edmond Good also contributed artwork to the series. Leonard Frank
did most of the artwork on the GABBY HAYES stories. The series lasted until issue #82.
Charlton then published six issues, but they were reprints of the Fawcett issues.
This book is available in both hardcover and trade paperback editions as well as in full color or
black & white.
