Set within the context of both the local economy and the broader spirits industry in New Zealand, guests will be given a behind the scenes tour that will begin with an informal chat
This exclusive tour with our Founder and Chief Executive, Patsy Bass, will give guests an understanding of the strategy behind the setting up of the distillery and an insight into the challenges and highlights of establishing a business on the West Coast of New Zealand.
Set within the context of both the local economy and the broader spirits industry in New Zealand, guests will be given a behind the scenes tour that will begin with an informal chat with Patsy in our distillery lounge, as she shares the motivation for, and history of, Reefton Distilling Co.,
A short walk along Broadway, the town’s main street, before self-driving to our new distillery to continue the tour. Guests will have an extended time for questions as Patsy shares her vision for the company, as well as our environmental and social commitment.
Duration: Allow up to 2 hours
Location: Start and finish at 10 Smith Street, Reefton, with a self-drive component during the tour when we visit the new distillery

Timing: Tour runs once each month at 1pm, usually on the third Saturday of the month
The Founders’ Tour will commence in our original distillery, before a 2k self-drive to the distillery on the outskirts of Reefton for a private tour of the distillery.

Note: Guests on this tour must wear covered footwear, for health and safety reasons.
The Founders’ Tour includes a complimentary 700ml bottle from our range of super premium spirits and liqueurs. If guests would like to complement their tour with a full tasting, they can head back to the Cellar Door where our experienced team will guide them through a selection of samples.
