Each Decorating Disk has its own even or odd segmented divisions. Use the concentric circles to quickly centre your piece. Coloured radial lines indicate even divisions (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) on one disk and odd divisions (3, 5, 7, 9) on the other disk.
The secret is the holes. Along the radial lines are holes that allow a potter to mark through the decorating disk to the soft, leather hard, or bisqued clay. Place an MKM Decorating Disk on top of (or underneath) the pot, centre it and mark through the holes to the clay.
