Reliable synthetic blend for high mileage vehicles. Castrol GTX High Mileage 20W-50 is our go-to oil for older vehicles and high-mileage units in our dealership inventory. The synthetic blend formula provides good protection for engines with significant wear. The 20W-50 viscosity helps reduce oil consumption in higher mileage engines. We've had excellent results using this in trucks and SUVs with over 100k miles. The seal conditioning additives help prevent leaks. Price point is reasonable for a quality synthetic blend. Quality oil

I use nothing but Castrol GTX high mileage 20w50 oil and Wix oil filters in my 2000 Nissan Frontier with 317,000 highway miles on the engine. I change the oil every 3,000 miles and engine is still going strong!

Amazon has become my go-to motor oil merchant

I could not be happier with this oil.
I have been using Castrol GTX regular and High Mileage oils in several cars for 8+ years so you can imagine that I am satisfied with the brand.
As for Castrol's GTX High Mileage 20W-50, I have been using it for a while, first purchasing it at parts stores, but this oil was phased out of many stores in my area. I bought most of the stock I could find in the local stores and then pondered the question of what to do when I use it all up. I searched for this oil on Amazon, merely on a whim, and I was ecstatic to find that they sold it for a price much lower than what I was paying in the auto stores. An oil change on my car takes about four quarts, so I first purchased two of these five quart containers. After using them up and a having a great experience purchasing them on Amazon, I went ahead and purchased four more containers to stock up.
I do much of my own vehicle maintenance and working on cars a hobby of mine, so oil changes are something that I always do on my own. I use this Castrol in a 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon with 250,000 miles which is a daily driver and I will not use anything else for oil at this point. A specialist for these cars recommended that I try a 20W-50 oil in the B230F in my Volvo. I have been able to keep my engine running very smoothly for its age and mileage through regular oil changes and the use of this quality oil. I am confident that recurrent use of this oil will help me push the Volvo many more miles before needing to do an overhaul (the engine is yet to be overhauled, but that should be no big surprise for anyone who has experience with a B2XX engine Volvo).
