Did ever happen to you to have so many things to say but you were afraid to get judged? We live in the era of social media, where everyone talk publicly about their personal life, but what about those ones that do not have the courage to be so vocal about themselves ? IÕm aware that journaling is considered something of the past, but every great mind along history had one, whether is about scientists, philosophers, artists or literary genies.
Atticus said that Òwhen an artist falls in love with you, you never die. You'll forever exist on lines, poetry, lyrics, paintings, and photos. You're immortal that wayÓ. Although a romantic thought, many of us wouldnÕt limit our experiences to a lover. We want a way to remember what truly made us happy, sad, melancholic, what touched us deep inside.
Is a safe, cheap and easy way to clear your mind and know yourself better. Even a petty daily unpleasantness, a hostile glance of a stranger, a bad joke, or a nosy coworker can ruin your day. Why not whine about it, instead of piling it up and wait for the shit hit the fan? Why not stab the paper instead of your neighbors that steal your packages and say they didnÕt do it? Hahaha
Having all this technology, hand writing will become a lost art. Why not practice it, why not become good at it?
The best thing about having a journal is that you can have a good record of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. ThatÕs why you might cringe reading them again, you might laugh at yourself of feel guilty for your evilness. YouÕll be amazed how so many things you were so sure of yesterday, today seem pure ignorance. Every shade of emotion is part of human existence. Hiding a part of you because conventions, because of the pressure one must be in a certain way, will not yield any improvement. Censoring and denying the Shadow inside will not make it go away, but to harden you in your approaching.
We already have so many people hiding behind well-crafted masks.
