Look inside the daily life of a design architect and see the working sketches that are drawn to create architecture. The process of designing a building is complex, exciting, and chaotic. These hand drawn sketches will show the beginning bubble diagrams which show relationships between spaces all the way to the masterplans of large projects that show the complexity of balancing the placement of buildings on properties.

Quick design studies are shown in basic drawings to communicate design concepts and forms. There are exterior building faade developed drawings to illustrate the size, character, and architectural elements. Preferred thoughts on construction details are provided that would be developed further by the officeÕs production team.

You will find many design options for the same project which were used for consideration and discussion with a client team. The many options show several different approaches. There is a wide variety of building and project types. The project sizes range from residential remodels to large hospitality resorts in international locations.

All the drawings are hand drawn with either pencil or pen. These are the directions that an architectural lead designer will give to his support designers as project get fully developed. They range from conceptual design, schematic design and some illustrate construction detailing.

The sketches are intended to show you the behind the scenes work product that is needed to make good projects and to communicate design ideas within the industry. They are meant to inspire you to draw creatively, quickly, and freely without the hindrances of using drawing software.

All the drawings in this book are black and white. Architectural Design Sketches 2 is the second of three books where all the illustrations are colored. Architectural Design Sketches 3 completes the series with more black and white design drawings.

Simply Superb and Fascinating (at least to me)
Format: Paperback
While some may find this book boring, I find it fascinating. Professor Hudson is not only a brilliant writer, he is a mind blowing researcher who references everything. I have become fascinated with things like the USA lend-lease program that the USA implemented in World War 2 and how it damaged Europe, Britain in particular. Hudson covers this in detail. My personal study of economics for years has focused on John Maynard Keynes vs. the "Austrian/Von Mises" school and their so called "free markets." Professor Hudson, who anyone who has an interest in economics should get to know, is a TRUE "free market" supporter, a TRUE supporter of classical economics and offers a third and viable alternative to both Keynes and the "Austrian" school. VERY different and oh so fascinating. I will be buying more of Professor Hudson's books and recommend that you investigate the writings of Professor Hudson and also that of his friend and fellow economist, Professor Richard Wolff.

Best post 1900 historical reference book I've read.
Format: Paperback
Best historical reference book I've read - explains the rise of the US since 1900 at the expense of the rest of the world. War and trade is a business model the US has ruthlessly exploited - Hudson has recorded the ugly, callous methodology.

The paradigm of Dollar supremacy
Format: Paperback
Michael Hudson demonstrates how dollar dominance allows the U.S. to sustain trade deficits and fund overseas commitments by exporting its debt. This system gives the U.S. unique financial advantages, enabling it to shape global economic flows while minimizing domestic strain.
