From one of America's most important writers, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain, comes Perfume River, an exquisite novel that examines family ties and the legacy of the Vietnam war through the portrait of a single North Florida family. Robert Quinlan is a seventy-year-old historian teaching at Florida State University, where his wife Darla is also tenured. Their marriage, forged in the fervor of anti-Vietnam War protests, now bears the fractures of time, with the couple trapped in an existence of morning coffee, solitary jogging, and separate offices. The cracks in Robert and Darla's relationship remain under the surface, whereas the divisions in Robert's family are more apparent: he has almost no relationship with his brother Jimmy, who became estranged from the family as the Vietnam War intensified. As Robert and Jimmy's father, who is a veteran of World War II, draws near to the end of his life, aftershocks of war ripple across the family once again, with Jimmy refusing to appear at his father's bedside. And an unstable homeless man, whom Robert meets at a restaurant and at first takes to be a fellow Vietnam veteran, turns out to have a deep impact not just on Robert, but on all of the people closest to him. A profound and poignant novel that continues Butler's exploration of America, war, and the family, as begun in A Good Scent from a Strange Mountain and A Small Hotel, Perfume River is a powerful and moving portrait of the challenges of close relationships, the resonance of personal choice, and the American experience.Binding Type: Paperback

So comfortable!!
Size: 11, Color: Champagne Metallic
Love love love!! Great fit and work for wide-ish feet. Run a little big. Took me a couple days to break them in but now they are great. I bought a second color!!

VERY comfortable & cute sandal!
Size: 9, Color: Cognac
I needed a pair of comfortable sandals for this summer & I really got lucky with these. I have a lot of arthritis in my feet & even my $100(+) tennis shoes don’t keep the pain away. I may start with tennis shoes at the beginning of the day but 1/2 way through I slip on the Hey Dudes & all is much better!
These sandals are versatile, I have worn them with jeans & shorts. They would also look nice with a skirt. They are cute & comfortable! Not only are they lightweight, it feels like you are walking on air because the sole is so cushioned.
One thing I do want to mention is the fact there is A LOT of room given toward the front of the shoe. The strap that goes over the ball of your foot is looser than I am used to, even with wide feet. You aren’t able to make adjustments. When I first put them on I didn’t think I would like it but after wearing them every day for the past month I know I do.
I would recommend these sandals & wonder if I should stock up in case they stop making this style??

Cushy softness
Size: 8, Color: Ivory
I’m normally a 7W and originally ordered the 7 and it was almost a perfect fit if not for my high instep. Exchanged for an 8 and they fit great just a little loose in the toe strap but I can make it work.

Ripping with minimal wear.
Size: 8, Color: Black/Black, Size: 8, Color: Black/Black
I really wanted to love these. This is my first pair of HeyDudes, and I am pretty disappointed. I don't have wide feet. They fit perfectly, and were super comfortable. But they are already ripping and I haven't even worn them 5 times. I didn't even wear them long or walk a lot in them.
