While making up a smaller percentage of Minnesota's population compared to national averages, African Americans have had a profound influence on the history and culture of the state from its earliest days to the present. Author David Taylor chronicles the rich history of Blacks in the state through careful analysis of census and housing records, newspaper records, and first-person accounts. He recounts the triumphs and struggles of African Americans in Minnesota over the past 200 years in a clear and concise narrative. Major themes covered include settlement by Blacks during the territorial and early statehood periods; the development of urban Black communities in St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Duluth; Blacks in rural areas; the emergence of Black community organizations and leaders in the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries; and Black communities in transition during the turbulent last half of the twentieth century. Taylor also introduces influential and notable African Americans: George Bonga, the first African American born in the region during the fur trade era; Harriet and Dred Scott, whose two-year residence at Fort Snelling in the 1830s later led to a famous, though unsuccessful, legal challenge to the institution of slavery; John Quincy Adams, publisher of the state's first Black newspaper; Fredrick L. McGhee, the state's first Black lawyer; community leaders, politicians, and civil servants including James Griffin, Sharon Sayles Belton, Alan Page, Jean Harris, and Dr. Richard Green; and nationally influential artists including August Wilson, Lou Bellamy, Prince, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. African Americans in Minnesota is the fourth book in The People of Minnesota, a series dedicated to telling the history of the state through the stories of its ethnic groups in accessible and illustrated paperbacks.

Outlet extender
I love this product. Work great behind my couch so i don't have to leave a gap between the wall and couch. Very sturdy, and stable. Holds plugs in place.

Exelent choice no more hinging cables
I recently purchased the EZ Outlet Electrical Outlet Extender, and it has been a total game-changer for my home. I have a few outlets behind furniture and in tight corners that are almost impossible to use, and this product solved that problem instantly. The extender itself feels very sturdy and well-made. The most useful feature is the flexible, gooseneck-like arm that lets you bend the outlet away from the wall. This allowed me to easily plug in my lamp and a few other devices that were previously unreachable. I also love the extra ports. The two regular AC outlets, a USB-A port, and a USB-C port are incredibly convenient. It's great to be able to charge my phone and my laptop from the same spot without needing a separate charging block. The USB-C port is particularly fast, which is a huge bonus. Setup was as easy as plugging it in. There's no complicated wiring or anything to deal with. It's a simple, elegant solution that works exactly as advertised. If you have any hard-to-reach outlets in your home, I highly recommend this product. It's well worth the investment.

Looks good, adjustability is super nice
This is attractive (for what it is) and is working well, I really like the adjustability - the only downside so far is that the USB ports are on the underside where I'm using it, so are basically unusable on a regular basis unless you want to leave a cable dangling from it, tho if you had it run up or to the right from the outlet, that wouldn't be a factor.

Nice length and looks good
Bought two different types/brands of outlet extenders, overall I like this better out of the two when it comes to looks and functionality. This one you plug it in then rotate the outlet to the spot you need. One adhesive pad holds it in place easily due to light weight and trim materials. You can still plug something else in the wall outlet, this only takes up one of the outlets. It would be great if they added usb plugs to this like the other one.
