OLKI (straw) trivets get their inspiration from traditional Finnish Christmas decorations, but they look just as good on the table in the summer too! These trivets and table runners are by Ilona Ukkonen and Verso Design, a Finnish design house that specializes in modern textiles and innovative home accessories inspired by nature. The design features straw shapes, laser-cut from 8mm-thick felted wool.

Felted wool was chosen because it's soft, comfortable and familiar.  Graphic straw cutouts give the collection a modern edge. The effect is minimalist and bold, without feeling cold. It’s a welcome change from conventional trivets, which are often made from hard, inflexible materials like metal, ceramic or wood. While Verso’s trivets and table runners are made from a softer material, they still get the job done, protecting tabletops from hot dishes and platters. Plus, Verso’s Olki trivets add artistry to the table. Most trivets get put away after the meal, but these are beautiful enough for everyday display.

• Material: 100% wool felt
• Care: spot clean; clean the visible spot or stain by hand. Hand wash in cool water (30°C / 86°F) when needed.  Dry flat.  Iron medium heat.  Care instructions/recommendations on product label.
