ZEAL® 100% Pure Natural pet treats are nutritious, reliable, and traceable to their source. We provide 21 different varieties of delectable treats, 6 of which are also adored by cats. Our treats are handcrafted at our Auckland facility using top-quality New Zealand free-range meats and wild-caught seafood. There are absolutely NO colorings, flavors, additives, or preservatives involved in the making of our products. Pamper your pet with a delicious and healthy source of nutrients.

What types of treats are best for your dog's or cat's breed, size, and age?
We suggest supervising your pet while they enjoy treats, especially when introducing a new one. Many dogs tend to gulp down a treat without chewing, so it’s essential to keep an eye on them, regardless of their size or age, until you are confident they can handle it without the risk of choking. Cats typically take their time gnawing on a treat rather than consuming it quickly. Smaller dogs might find shank bones too large, while larger breeds may attempt to swallow medium-sized, harder treats without chewing. Older pets with dental issues may require softer chews, so it’s important to assess your pet’s size and eating habits.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. Ensure the pouch is zip-locked for freshness. For bulk purchases, store the unused treats in an airtight container to maintain freshness and hygiene.

Benefits

Maintaining your pet's oral and dental health is crucial. They can't communicate their pain, so it’s essential to regularly check their gums and teeth. Chewing on Zeal® Pet Treats can help eliminate plaque and tartar buildup. Regularly brushing your pet's teeth is also a good practice!

Using treats for training: Treats can be a valuable resource during training as they help keep your pet focused on you and the learning process, regardless of their age. For effective training, treats should ideally be small and easy to swallow, requiring minimal chewing so you can reward behaviors promptly and frequently. The best treats for training are relatively soft and about the size of a pea. Pets usually care more about the quantity of treats than their size. Larger treats are better suited for rewarding good behavior, as they require your pet to stop, chew, and take their time to enjoy them.

How to use dog treats effectively: The best way to use treats is to encourage a calm, submissive state. Avoid using treats to reward an excited or overly stimulated state of mind. Always let your pet sniff the treat first, holding it slightly out of reach and waiting. Remember, pets, especially dogs, can smell from over 5 meters away, so there’s no need to put the treat directly under their nose. Once they catch a whiff, dogs might initially become jumpy or try to leap on you. If this occurs, use your body language to communicate your disapproval; your patience as an owner will lead to a well-behaved pet. They will learn that a cool, calm demeanor yields results, sitting and waiting in quiet anticipation. When they’re calm, give them the treat. Avoid using treats to reinforce excitement; instead, use them to promote a calm, submissive state.

Feeding Guidelines

Don’t over-treat ~ While it can be tempting to indulge your furry friend when they beg for more, it's important to be moderate and keep treats regulated. Treats should supplement your pet’s diet. Just like us, too many treats can lead to weight gain and upset the balance of their diet, which must remain complete and nutritious for their well-being. Ideally, treats should not exceed 10% of your pet’s daily caloric intake, so be sure to adjust regular meal portions accordingly. This also applies to treats given as general rewards for good behavior. Failing to do so may result in weight gain, which can negatively impact your pet’s health.

Treat Wise ~ We always recommend supervising your pet while they enjoy treats, especially when trying a new one. Some dogs (unlike cats) can be overly eager when it comes to delicious morsels and may not chew properly, posing a choking hazard.

When to give treats to your pet ~ The best time to offer treats is between meals, not immediately before or after feeding. Select a treat that your pet will find enjoyable. If you’re using treats for training, they will be less effective right after your pet has had a full meal.

Great toy to relieve stress in a dog.
Color: Orange
He actually cares FOR this toy. I think he thinks its alive. I put it in his Kong weeble wobble thing because that thing actually is indestructible, thinking he'd be able to play with it but not be able to tear it up and he started yelping like he was hurt. I do expect him at some point to tear this thing up if he gets bored with it. He's a shredder and the material looks shred-able. But right now he loves this thing. First toy he takes to bed with him. ;)

My puppy’s favorite
Color: Orange
Great quality and built to last. My dog really enjoys playing with it and stays entertained for quite a while. The material is strong yet safe, and the included drawstring bag is a convenient extra for easy storage. Is colorful and my become my puppy’s favorite.

If you love your dog…don’t buy this.
Color: Orange
We have a nonaggressive English cocker. She opened the ball every time she played with it. And yes, we are closing it as hard as we can. I do not recommend this toy for any dog! This is a dangerous toy for a dog that is not supervised.

Fun but not for rough play.
Color: Orange
The ball contented our “golden” Jaxson for about 15 minutes. He then thought it was a regular ball and it’s just a little delicate for a big dog. I just wrote it off as a loss. Great idea but should be more durable.
