"Madness Reigns From The Gutter (1990)" captures the band during a pivotal moment following the breakthrough success of "Gutter Ballet", which many fans consider their absolute live peak. The recording presents Savatage more powerful, heavier, more theatrical and dynamic than ever before.
Carefully restored from the original master tapes and newly mixed and mastered, this previously unreleased show features the classic 1990 line-up: Jon Oliva, Criss Oliva, Chris Caffery, Johnny Lee Middleton and Steve “Doc” Wacholz. Following more than 100 shows across Europe and North America during this era, the recording reflects the full intensity and ambition of the band at the time.
The album is a true gem for Savatage’s dedicated fanbase as well as the broader classic and heavy metal audience, for whom the "Gutter Ballet" era marks a defining chapter in the band’s history.
