Discover blazing-fast networking with the Cisco 25Gigabit Ethernet Card, a high-performance PCI Express 3.0 x16 quad-port network adapter designed for data centers, enterprise servers, and demanding workstations. With four 25GBase-X fiber ports, this plug-in card delivers scalable bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and rock-solid reliability that IT teams demand for virtualization, storage networks, and high-speed computing workloads. Built to integrate seamlessly into existing infrastructure, it supports modern rack and blade servers, enabling an efficient upgrade path from older 10G and 40G deployments while enhancing data throughput and application responsiveness. The 16,000 MB/s aggregate bandwidth on this adapter underscores its capability to move large data sets quickly, helping to shorten backup windows, accelerate live migrations, and improve real-time analytics. From hyper-converged environments to AI and HPC workloads, the Cisco 25Gigabit Ethernet Card is engineered to maximize throughput, optimize CPU utilization, and future-proof your network against expanding performance demands.

  • Quad-port 25GbE performance with scalable bandwidth: This card provides four independent 25GBase-X fiber links, delivering an aggregate throughput that supports dense VM environments, large-scale storage fabrics, and parallel data streams. Each 25 Gb/s port enables high-density uplinks, enabling faster VM migrations, rapid data replication, and accelerated replication between storage nodes. The four-port design also facilitates NIC teaming and link aggregation, allowing administrators to pool bandwidth across ports to meet peak transfer requirements while preserving resilience and load balancing for fault tolerance. With advanced offload capabilities, the card minimizes CPU interrupts, freeing processor cycles for compute-intensive tasks and improving overall system efficiency.

  • PCIe 3.0 x16 host interface for maximal throughput: The card slots into a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, delivering ample headroom for multi-port 25GbE operation and future growth. This high-bandwidth bus minimizes bottlenecks between the host CPU and the NIC, helping sustain line-rate performance across demanding workloads such as virtualized data centers, real-time analytics, and large-scale databases. The x16 interface is widely supported, ensuring broad compatibility with current servers, hypervisors, and operating systems. In practical terms, you’ll experience smooth live migrations, consistent data transfers, and reliable performance during peak activity without compromising application latency.

  • Optical fiber connectivity with SFP28 interfaces for long reach: The 25GBase-X standard on this card is implemented via SFP28 fiber ports, enabling high-speed, long-distance connections across racks, rooms, and data centers. Fiber optics provide excellent EMI resistance, lower attenuation, and durability in challenging environments. Selecting the right SFP28 transceivers and fiber type (single-mode or multi-mode as appropriate) unlocks the full potential of 25 GbE, allowing you to tailor your network topology for distance and density. This flexibility makes the card well-suited for campus deployments, inter-rack uplinks, storage-area networks (SANs), and cross-data-center links, all while maintaining predictable throughput and reliable link integrity.

Not what I expected to be a website app builder!
Format: Paperback
Nearly 800 pages to look through. It is great for getting started but to write code and input it to have website function, a website app is needed. I can pay someone $800 complete and not have to buy an app for building websites!

This book is aimed directly at professional web designers and is build around Adobe CS6. It can be helpful, but...
Format: Paperback
Preface - I have a lot of experience making webpages and sites, but my experience is very dated (I haven't played with actual web programming in more than a decade). Many things have changed since I was building websites - including the standardization of HTML 5 and the widespread use of CSS. Since I am rebuilding a number of personal webpages - as well as my commercial site - my wife bought me this book to help me catch up on the new technology. Pluses - 1) The book does a really good job of giving a decent overview of the new technologies I need to learn. Like most "Dummies" books, it is easy to read and follow the instructions and information. 2) The book is aimed at actual web designers and while I am not a professional designer, the tips and tricks laid out in this book are very helpful. 3) I am not sure that someone completely new to website construction would get as much out of it as I did - there are a lot of assumptions made by the author about the reader's grasp of certain web technologies. That said, I think someone new to web design could probably still figure out what is being said. Negatives - 1) This book is aimed at someone looking to become a professional web designer. It is NOT a low level book and covers many things that a personal website designer is not likely to need. Given the fairly low price of the book, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't presented that way in the advertisements for the book. 2 (and this is the biggie...) The book is built around using a VERY expensive piece of software - Adobe Creative Suite cs6. This software runs ~$1,000. This makes sense if you are trying to become a professional web designer, but for someone at home just doing a website for themselves, it is WAY out of most people's price range. You don't need that software to learn the lessons in the book, but it is heavily slanted for that piece of software. Most of the screenshots are aimed at the Adobe software. I am using a fairly decent piece of software, but I will need to get a book on that particular software to try to do some of the things the book talks about. I found the book helpful, but flawed for anyone NOT getting into professional web design.

Great reference book
Format: Paperback
I started reading this book and gave up after I realized I didn't have the programs that it called for. (The programs are very expensive!) However, I kept this on hand because I started to do more research on HTML codes and taught myself (with some guidence from this book) how to create my own webpages using simple design programs AND coding other sites soley with HTML codes! Decently priced and something good to have on hand when that one thing just doesn't make sense...
