LP version. Include 12-page booklet. The long-awaited follow-up to Des Jeunes Gens Mödernes (BORNBAD 012 LP, 2008), with five killer previously unreleased tracks. Volume 2 continues to explore the vaults of French post-punk, electropop, and no wave. Between the late '70s and mid '80s, in the wake of punk wave and in parallel to other types of music like disco, funk, ska, and reggae, a prolific and chaotic music scene began to develop in France, combining the energy of rock and the nihilism of punk with electronic experimentation. The period was not, on the whole, one of optimism and joy, played out as it was against a background of economic crisis and the cold war. A whole section of France's youth found itself confronted by the contradictions of the times it was living in: young people were torn between the sensation of living on the edge of an abyss and hope for the dawning of a new world; they were deprived of tangible ideological landmarks but resistant to the post-hippy utopias of the previous generation. In search of an identity, they recognized themselves in the dark lyrics, the cold synthetic music, and the laid-back attitude of the new groups bursting up all over the country, as much in the provinces as in Paris. Des Jeunes Gens Mödernes (Modern Young Men) reactivates this French post-punk/novo diskö/new and cold-wave scene, highlighting a cross-section of the specific creative diversity of this scene. The new wave drew upon artistic avant-garde movements from the past (Constructivism, Futurism, symbolism, Dadaism, socialist realism, and so on), as well as literature (Romanticism, science fiction, etc.), cinema (new wave, German expressionist cinema), and the latest technological advances (electronic, robotic, nuclear). Drawing on traditional culture as well as the underground subcultures to which various magazines and fanzines gave voice (American countercultures; endless references to William S. Burroughs, for example; pop art, etc.), the new wave embraced all areas of creativity together, and built bridges between the different artistic disciplines (music, visual art, design, literature, cinema...) to an extent never before seen. Digipak CD includes 32-page booklet. LP includes 12-page booklet. A quick and interesting read. It may help you broaden your horizons with relationships!
There is no real difference in terms of what you will take away from this book if you already read the original. This book gives you some manly homework, some insight into conflicts with perspectives that I did not think of. Suffice it to say, reading this book helped me grow as a person and helped with my relationship. You come out on top as a man since this book helps keep your cool. Basically what I'm trying to say is: If you never read any Love Language book and you want a more man-centric read. Get this and live it.

Bought as a gift
The young man is using the book to understand that we all have different love languages and I watch as he take interest in the content of the book. I gave both my daughters a copy last Christmas as part of their gifts as well. I have my copy of the book and it has helped me to understand others as well as myself more profoundly. Everyone one should get a copy for themself…a must have to help build better relationships.

Prescriptive approach to eye-opening information
This book has changed my perspective for the better. It is very prescriptive in its approach, but that's just what I needed. Not only can I better understand the love expressed by others in their unique way, but I have a better concept of how to express love in different "languages" and even "dialects." My understanding of others has greatly improved. I'm more excited to think of different ways to express my love. I just can't say enough about this book. It is well worth a second read as well just to be reminded of all the important messages. It also includes portions about controlling anger and apologies. The book doesn't contain information that's mind blowing, but the way it's presented can be life changing for some. It's the package deal on how to be a better lover.

Recommend this book
Gary Chapman defines the daily tasks of Love and the work made to sustain a relationship as compared to the false notions that the media portrays about love which are actually false. This is new learning and excellent book on love. I only recommend this book on love and no other.
