1/500 USS Springfield Ship modelThroughout a long and decorated career, the USS Springfield served with distinction as a Cleveland Class light cruiser and a Providence Class guided missile cruiser in two different classes. Her wartime service during WWII consisted of shore bombardment and anti aircraft picket roles in the Pacific. From 1957 1960 the vessel was converted to a guided missile cruiser.
