I originally thought a science-fiction theme might be fun, of literally catching the sun perhaps in some net or trap, but I found nothing. Eventually, hours of scrolling later, I went for a more thematic congruence for the song, which seems to be about a toxic relationship (with a woman? with alcohol?) from which the singer is reluctantly detaching, so I wanted a visual of that dynamic: she's attractive, but no good, and he knows it, and is becoming aware that he's going to have to walk away or concede defeat (if not annihilation). If you're familiar with Doves and their struggles, you'll know this is pretty on-point.
After a long while I found this wonderful vintage pulp paperback cover that I feel does this justice, and -- added bonus -- the background is yellow and burning just like the sun that's burning him even as he embraces it. Mmm. Good stuff.
