In July of 1535, More was brought to trial, found guilty of malicious treason, and beheaded. “I die the King’s good servant,” he declared in his final words, “and God’s first.”
But in the course of his year-long imprisonment in the Tower of London, this “man for all seasons” wrote a collection of letters, instructions, and prayers to family and friends, using coal when he had no pen or ink at his disposal. More was facing a final “riddle,” he wrote to his daughter Margaret— “a case in which a man may lose his head and yet have none harm, but instead of harm inestimable good at the hand of God.”

Fit and comfort
Size: 12, Color: Ch British Tan/Ivory
These have to rate as equal to any shoes I've ever owned. I know everyone's foot is shaped differently but when I slipped my feet into these I was immediately sure I had made the correct choice. Sizing is true.
You note, I'm sure, that these are slip-on shoes. My experience with slip-ons has been mixed as sometimes the heel tends to slip due to the maker leaving room for the slip-on function to take place. When I got these I discovered that the opening for my feet was so tight I needed to shoe-horn them in and it wasn't particularly easy. The heel counter was "high and tight" but once I got my feet in the shoes it was heaven. Then, after a couple of days wearing them I can now slip my feet into these slip-ons with ease and the shoes grip my feet like a lace-up shoe can do.
I have one other pair of Cole Haans in the same size 12. They are also a wonderful fit for me.
I highly recommend.
