My sister, ever the trendsetter, had proudly mounted this tiny abomination on her living room wall. "It's the June birth flower," she proclaimed, as if that explained everything. I nodded, feigning interest while secretly wondering if being born in June was punishment enough without having to display this porcelain parasite. "Don't you think it's a bit... small?" I ventured, squinting at the wall art decor that seemed more suited for a dollhouse than a human dwelling. She looked at me as if I'd just suggested we redecorate with macaroni art.
