    • Exclusively available only from Mellow Monkey
    • Handcrafted by local artisan, Alan Winick, this tide clock has the image of Huntington Harbor Lighthouse, formerly known as Lloyd Harbor Lighthouse, a lighthouse in Huntington Bay on Long Island, New York, with a tide that rises and falls as the actual tide in your location goes from high to low.
      • The lighthouse was established in 1857 and the current tower was first lit in 1912. The light was automated in 1949 and is still operational. The foundation is cast reinforced concrete crib and the lighthouse is made out of cast reinforced concrete. The tower is square "castle" in the Beaux-Arts style.

      • In 1857, a lighthouse was built on the tip of Lloyd's Neck to assist ships in finding shelter in Lloyd Harbor from the wind and waves that often hinder navigation on the Long Island Sound. This first lighthouse, called the Lloyd Harbor Light, was of little help to ships entering the adjoining Huntington Harbor. In 1912, a new lighthouse was built to serve Huntington Harbor.

      • The new structure was a unique lighthouse, in both design and construction. The Beaux Arts style makes the light look like a small castle. The reinforced concrete foundation and structure is unique to the area, as well. The foundation for the light was built nearby on land, then floated to the site and sunk.

      • As a result of a 1983 survey, the light was deemed unsafe for servicing personnel and too expensive to repair. The Coast Guard considered demolishing the lighthouse and erecting a steel tower.

      • In 1985, a group called Save Huntington's Lighthouse was formed by local citizens to save the lighthouse from demolition. It became the first private group in the country to successfully take over and restore an offshore lighthouse. Now known as the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society, the group continues to enlist volunteers and raise funds for ongoing restoration and preservation work.

      • Tide clock has a black frame with dual faced clock.
      • Bottom of clock provides the traditional tide clock showing current tide. Dial provides hours to high tide and to low tide.
      • Top of clock is what makes this time piece truly unique.  A mechanically animated display of the waterline rises and falls as the tide goes from high to low.
      • Clock measures 11-in H x 6-1/2-in W x 2-in D
      • Can be displayed free standing or on a wall.
      • Construction: Plastic frame, plastic, paper and metal housing.

      Great book!
      Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I am still in nursing school- but I like to try read and gain knowledge ahead of time. I do this so that with upcoming semesters, the concepts are not completely foreign to me and I’m not blindsided by new topics. I have been following a lot of the YouTube videos with Mark and Dr. Sharon and have found them very educational even while in nursing school. I purchased this book and I really am happy with it. I was hoping it would have offer more info in it , maybe some more facts here and there but it’s basically an answer bank. It does have some small facts but they are not in depth at all- just mainly recall information. It really is based off just past memory from your education. For me personally, I find this book pretty useful to have if you feel confident in all topics- and plan to go for your NCLEX..however, if you’re still a bit rusty on some topics, you won’t really be able to rely solely on this book to brush up on information- not in a manner of depth (which I guess is the point). I think applying his lectures, listening to their YouTube videos and applying this book would make the ultimate go-to. The book alone is wonderful- but it’s simply just answer banks to help recall the info. Which is great if you’re looking for strictly recall. I was fortunate enough to find his lectures on Reddit along with some of the “yellow pages” from other students. I can apply that with this book and be confident in upcoming tests , as his lectures are incredible.

      A wonderful edition!
      Format: Paperback
I highly recommend this edition above all others available. The translation is very clear and lucid and actually makes Timaeus and Critias real page-turners. Not only is the translation great, but the introductory material is incredible. While one review here mentions that the translation misses some of the nuance of Platonic thought (which I don't necessarily agree with that), the introduction more than makes up for that. So many available editions of Timaeus are written by reluctant scholars who act puzzled as to why they've been asked to introduce Timaeus when they are obviously either not fond of it, or dismissive of it as an authentic piece of Plato's canon. At last, we have an edition that is faithful and generous to the source material!
