Xuan paper (Shuen Paper) aka rice paper, was originated in ancient China used for writing and painting. Xuan paper is renowned for being soft and fine textured yet tough. Its ability to absorb water and moisten ink made them suitable for conveying the artistic expression of both Chinese calligraphy and painting. The artwork finished on Xuan paper often preserved in the format of a scroll. Inspired by that, our artists used authentic Xuan paper scrolls as the centerpiece but added their own twist by splashing colorful ink on the surface of the scrolls. Streaks of gold paint running right across the centerpiece.
The painted scrolls were then sealed inside an acrylic shadow box with a densely woven linen back drop. We offer three color options, blue, red and yellow. Hang them individually or as a set to create an impressive wall gallery.
