It's the version 2.0 of the removable legstrap bungee from Overdose Industries: Wingsuit Legstrap Bungee 2!

This new removable leg strap bungee is for people who wingsuit and do other cool stuff too! The new clasp design is both 30% narrower and shorter than the first generation plastic version. The two part design allows the bungee to be connected and disconnected to allow the easy fitting and removal of your rig from your wingsuit. Half elastic and half gutted type IIIa prevents the bungee from being 'pinged' while wearing your rig.

The aluminium barrel is lab tested to 70kg with smooth edges so is safe against the fabric of your wingsuit and snag resistant; no test jumpers reported feeling the clip while sitting on the floor or benches of various aircraft or while sliding out fast downwinders.

• Supplied with 400mm 4mm shock and needle/string for ease of fitting

Use: To use simply squeeze the two silver buttons together and slide the black outer casing back. Hook the elastic and slide the black outer casing forward again until it looks in place. View the demo video at the bottom of this page.

Installation: The clasp end attaches to the rig like a slink while the elastic is tied to the other leg strap attachment point. See the video at the bottom of this page.

Sizing: The system should be at half stretch when rig is properly fitted and the use is standing in a half squat position (thighs parallel with the ground) and feet shoulder width apart. Sizing can be based on a bungee currently fitted or by using a pull-up cord tied between the two attachment points to asses correct length.

Maintenance: Generally it should be maintenance free but the system should be checked as part of your pre-jump check to ensure it is connected and for general wear. If jumping in sandy conditions it may be necessary to clean/lubricate the barrel should it become fouled (using a rig safe lubricant like food safe silicone).

Development: This second generation design has been developed based on feedback from the sale of over 400 units of the first design. The new design involved the development and testing of 5 new designs which were evaluated over the summer of 2019. Development of the first generation involved 2000+ jumps over a 12 month period on various rigs including Vector, Javelin, Infinity, Wings and SWS with jumpers ranging in height from 157cm (5'3) to 182cm (6'1). Several different designs and materials were tested before this version was selected.
