About the author:

With an MS in Psychology and Marriage and Family Counseling from Pepperdine University (1990), Miriam works in private practice with families and children, and, through her organization SANE, volunteers many hours providing a resource for the neediest to access appropriate mental health care.

Uniquely skilled at combining behavioral and humanistic approaches to address a wide spectrum of psychopathology, including ADHD, addiction, anxiety, depressive disorders, panic disorders, and anger management, Miriam imparts self-regulation brain training techniques whereby clients learn to develop tools for a balanced and fulfilled life.

Miriam’s approach, CBTTTM, fuses fundamental Torah principles with her background in mental health to empower individuals to release their inner healing potential, while aligning with their true purpose on essential life issues.

A sought-after speaker, Miriam lectures nationally and internationally. She has hundreds of classes available, for adults and children, on TorahAnytime.com, TorahCafé.com, the SPARKS helpline, YouTube (“Brain Train for Children” and “Channel Your Light”), and her own website, yournewheights.org. She writes regularly for publications including The Jewish Press, Chabad.org, Posh Living, True Balance, Nashim, and Table for Five, and presents workshops at the annual Nefesh conference for therapists. She works with SPARKS as a counselor, giving teleconferences and webinars on a variety of topics relating to emotional health.

Miriam taught weekly classes in the central synagogue in Crown Heights, New York (770) as well as in Long Island, for over twenty years. She now gives weekly Zoom classes on Chassidus, CBTT, marriage, parenting, and other Torah topics.
